Yeah even I was starting to think this way. But now if you do need to go to hospital you won't get the best care, and they are always residual risks with covid. So I guess I'll stay in my hole another month or two.

go to worldometer, multiply the number of cases 64,344,694 by .135 and you get 868,653 deaths, so it actually is less than 1.35%

I recall reading an article about how despite it's pop density, chinatown in SF did very well, at least back in the early days of the 'rona. sorry, don't recall the deets.

Seventy-seven percent of French people have received at least two doses, or 90 percent of those 12 years old and over

If Macron’s approach has shown anything, it is the sad and apparent truth that the only way to compel citizens to act for the greater good is not to appeal to some higher sense of civic duty but to tell them there will be no restaurant meals if they don’t get their shots.

I just went to look at how old Gibraltar was doing. Since they are 99% vaccinated and well boostered.

7 day average is 148 with a population of 33,691. That is 0.0044 of the people are getting Covid each day.

The United States with 62.6% vaccinated has a 7 day average of 761,276 with a population of 329.5 million. That is 0.0023 of the people are getting Covid each day.

The good news is they are a very healthy small nation and the death rate is better than the United State.

It really is time to let the vaccine everyone go. We have caused enough damage with the way this has been handled. I fear we are going to see sharp decreases in vaccination rates for drugs that do have long term safety trach records. And the longer people try to die on the sword of a vaccine that is not slowing the spread...I fear the more damage will be done in this regard.

The graphs show case rates that are 4x the peak level in 2021, with acute/intensive care rates that are lower than the peak. IOW - the highly vaccinated population is not experiencing a commensurate degree of negative outcomes suffered previously.

So you are comparing a place of 33 thousand to one of 330 million? Then you acknowledge lower death rates, but attribute it to "being healthy" and not the 99% vaccination rate

For some reason you keep obsessing with infection rates.

I really don't get why you are so hell bent on poo pooing vaccines and publicly spreading this disinformation. You aren't dumb, so I am confident you understand the cherry picking you are doing and understand the real information, but yet you are compelled to skew it into something you know it isn't.

Umm that’s everywhere no matter the vax status. Historical doctors and admins are telling us they are virtually not having to put anyone on vents right now compared to delta.
Thankfully Omicron is a much milder variant.

Biden has warned people and threatened a winter of death. On top of that he is pushing a mandate that would make people lose their job. The only thing potentially in the way, possibly the Supreme Court.
Marcon approval rating is garbage right now for a reason. Last I saw 38%…
Biden heading in that direction too.

I just posted in the deaths in the UK with the solid getting old data we are not getting anymore from Public Health England.

    Booster up if you want.

Vents are also not being used much for the most part because it turns out they do not work real well. Plus we have better therapeutics and as you mention…omicron/omicold is less severe.

Yep, that's the super comical part about all the covid hysteria. If trump or any pub was pushing any of this crazy shit, that dude maddow et al, would be stroking out and the lefty's would be burning everything down.

This isn’t true. The medical community figured out early on the survival rate was extremely low once you are intubated, mortality rate was something crazy like 80%. So the trend was to not intubate even when oxygen is low, but to try other strategies like putting patients in a prone position and holding off as long as possible even if oxygen kept dropping. However at some point, when their patients start crashing they have no choice but to go to the vent, that is what keeps them alive. That happened in large numbers with the delta wave.

It’s starting to happen a little more in this wave too btw, though the % of patients seriously ill will be much lower, the sheer volume of infections is off the charts. So it remains to be seen if there will be a similar strain on hospitals (at least in terms of the critically ill patients).

I would not suggest that. But if that is what fits for you...by all means.

Thank you for making my point...

Vents are not the best way to treat until it is absolutely necessary.

The “untrue” part is they aren’t used much. They don’t want to use them knowing what they learned very early on, and delay that step of going to full life support longer than before. But the delta wave from just a few months ago was peak vent usage!

The hospitalization numbers are definitively ticking up, so I suspect we’ll see a surge in the next couple weeks. Whether that surge hits a new peak I wouldn’t guess. Obviously cases seem to be 5x or more, so even with 1/5th the severity it would match the delta wave on that measure. The only good news is the entire cycle of this wave will likely be super fast and be over in a month, not played out over several months.
