Oh I respectfully but objectively shut my coworkers down. I can do that to my coworkers. My 2nd job is not as simple as its a part time gig and I work with several nurses. I'm an outsider there and we all pretty much keep opinions to ourselves but comments have slipped and its clear where some stand even as we treat symptomatic people....

Natural Immunity "not panning out" with Omicron.

Omicron: Natural immunity idea ‘not really panning out,’ doctor explains

“This idea of natural immunity is not really panning out with this virus,” Dr. Hilary Fairbrother, an emergency medicine physician based in New York City, said on Yah oo Finance Live (video above). “I think part of that is because Omicron has so many mutations, and there’s really no way to know what the next variant will have.”

“For patients who had alpha or delta [strains of coronavirus], they seem to have next to no immunity when it comes to omicron,” Fairbrother said. “There is some evidence that there’s slightly less severity in disease, and other people have certainly seen patients who are very sick with omicron who have already had COVID. So the best protection that we have is vaccination.”

If your intent is to demonstrate the salvific properties of vaccines ... is measles the hill you want to die on ?

New corona variant identified in France (msn.com)
B.1.640.2 was discovered in a traveler returning from Cameroon and has even more mutations than Omicron. And a first "Flurona" case has occurred in Israel.Just when we thought things were looking up at least a little, because the omicron variant, while being more contagious, often takes a milder course than delta, a new variant emerged. We do not yet know how dangerous it is or where it originated.

The new variant was detected in early December in a traveler who returned to France from Cameroon, the hospital IHU Méditerrannée in Marseille announced. The returnee from Cameroon reportedly infected 12 people in southern France.

    Even more mutations than omicron

This new mutant, called B.1.640.2, has 46 mutations in an "atypical combination," several more mutations than omicron, which has 37, according to a preprint study that has not yet been peer-reviewed.

According to this study, the two already known spike protein mutations N501Y and E484K are also found in the new corona variant. The N501Y mutation, for example, was detected very early in the alpha variant. It causes the pathogen to bind more strongly to human cells and thus to spread more easily in the body.

    First "Flurona" case in Israel

Meanwhile, in Israel, a 31-year-old pregnant woman has contracted corona and the seasonal flu virus at the same time. It is the world's first registered "Flurona" case, a neologism composed of flu and corona.

The pregnant woman has been revaccinated and is only mildly ill, according to the Israeli Ministry of Health. Because Israel has seen a sharp increase in flu infections in recent weeks, the Health Ministry is investigating the case to see if "flurona" is causing more severe illness.

What a waste of space this article is.
So a vaccine that’s designed on the spike protein of Alpha variant is supposed to be better protection than someone who has beat either alpha or delta??

He literally says there is no idea what the next variant might be due to the amount of mutations. It’s the biggest reason virtually everyone is getting sick right now.

Israel is on their 4th round of vaccines and yet have a massive spike in cases.

lmao thanks for the laugh for this morning. I hope people look past garbage like this and use some form of critical thinking.

My wife and I are both struggling with allergies.

What we can’t figure out is, did I give them to her or did she give them to me ?

Or maybe we’re stuffy because other people aren’t taking their antihistamines ?

This is as embarrassing as MTG saying no one shuts down businesses because people die of cancer.

    Possibly moreso.

Which reminds me, why must I take chemo for your fear that I might give you cancer ?

UK actually using real data to make decisions. Wish the US did that.

UK MPs & Pub Hlth Profs urge HALT to mass C19 vaxxing of healthy children: “We believe that the benefit to risk ratio of child vaccination should be reassessed in light of the Omicron variant and new evidence on both vaccine harms and superior natural immunity.”

Why do you suppose that case counts went down by 90% in the years after the introduction of that vaccine?

Yes. Vaccines with a booster provides better defense to Omicron than natural immunity. After a booster, your protection is equivalent to the original two shots against Alpha.

What's weird about these takes is that even if the vaccines had less efficacy than natural immunity, it's still smart to get vaccinated.

Efficacy of antibodies induced by natural infection, vaccination, or both against SARS-CoV-2 Omicron and Beta variants

Perhaps you could have read it more carefully. To begin with, Dr. Fairbrother is a she. ;)

So you figure that there still is widespread measles, but somehow the symptoms went away?

Frankly, I’m highly skeptical that measles ever killed anyone, let alone recently. What do you think they are ?
