Anecdotally, a friend who had both vaccinations got a bad case of the Delta variant. The monoclonal treatments were like an overnight change.

I agree with @BigCypressGator1981 here. One poster has made this historically helpful thread unbearable. I use to come here and try to contribute daily if I can. Now it's once a week.

One user constantly bringing questionable sources that are easily refuted screams attention seeking and is droll. Nobody is willingly that wrong, that frequently, unless he enjoys stirring the pot. It's subversive in intent and, again, unbearable.

Did I scold you? Were you the one the people making personal attacks on someone?
Did any of your posts get deleted?

Hint: you aren't one of the people being discussed perhaps?

We are talking about shutting down. Not the policies of political theater.

Here is the thing. Everyone has sources. Sources are all over the map. Honestly I doubt you or I have much reason to trust any sources being spouted other than they fit one view or the other.

Also to act like one poster is the issue, when another certain poster is going back and forth with him almost post to post is absurd.

REGARDLESS....none of that is a reason to attack someone on a personal level and the person being attacked on that level is not the person you are speaking of. The person being attacked has been questionable in sourcing imho, but has not made any attacks at anyone and has maintained a constant respect in his tone.

People just hate his message and have gotten far too harsh.

Let me ask you this. What opinion in your pov reaches a point where personal attacks are ok?

I say NONE. How about you?

By the way. The posts have to be deleted. They are clear rule violations.

I'm glad it worked so well for them.

Overall, the monoclonal treatments are less effective at preventing hospitalization, don't last as long, and cost ten times more. Which makes it bizarre that there are people who would push the monoclonal treatments over the vaccinations.

Yeah this was in addition to the vaccine.

    Both is definitely better.

But if we were going to promote one over the other, the vaccine protects better and longer and is cheaper. It seems odd that anyone would promote the monoclonal treatments and denigrate the vaccines.

Not sure there is enough evidence it's less effective at preventing hospitalization unless you are getting the shot every 6 months.

Definitely more expensive but funny enough most of the people I know that have received this treatment are fully vaccinated. Most of my family, friends, and associates are vaccinated.

Anecdotally maybe so but an overwhelming majority of people I have personally administered regeneron to have been unvaccinated and it's not close. That is changing at this time as I have seen an uptick in vaccinated people showing up for treatment due to positive tests and symptoms.

As far as cost is concerned I'm not sure since contrary to what some say here regeneron has shown some great numbers as a prophylactic as well so who knows what costs the treatment prevents due to hospitalizations and post covid therapy

A person who is “fully vaccinated” might be more inclined to be on the ball about going out and seeking the monoclonal treatment? Particularly if they are in the “at risk” category for developing severe illness. You have to remember this treatment only works well in the early phase of infection. If you are in the hospital and on oxygen, it is basically not given at that point because it’s too late to work (your body at that point is producing its own antibodies to fight the more severe infection, so flooding in a bunch of additional antibodies isn’t necessarily helpful at that stage).

I know some tout it as some sort of replacement for vaccines, and there may be a small set that do actually rush out and get this treatment while not being vaxxed. But I have a hard time believing that is typical, especially those in denial about the severity of the disease itself. If it’s no big deal, it’s all a Democrat hoax, and the vaccinations are the mark of the devil, is it rational to immediately go get a monoclonal antibody infusion as soon as you are contact traced to the disease? Not really.

So, for clarification. If I say I think fat people in general are lazier than skinny people (I can provide sources) that is not a personal attack, right? Like saying, taking the vaccine is lazy or "booster up" is not a personal attack. True?

I am speaking of a certain gif a certain someone posted IRT someone's actual appearance from their photo posted previously on this board.
I think you know what I am getting at. C'mon man. You're better than that. A personal attack is one aimed at a specific person that insults them directly.

This site has become a mirocosm of the left leaning covid media world we now live in. No views are allowed to stand that go against the chosen narrative and must be belittled, shouted down and obliterated. Kudos to you guys here at THFSG for at least allowing a different take on this cluster bleep to be heard.

look. My view is probably considered "liberal" on this topic, but I totally respect the other side. Trolling without links is one thing, but some folks are coming with a lot of data. Others discount the sources which is fine, but it isn't the same as just trolling as we know it. The data about kids is very inconclusive. My youngest hasn't and wont be getting it any time soon. But some here will say that I am ignoring science. I think there is plenty of science that questions the need to get my son vaxxed at his age.

people on BOTH sides have dug in and you see very little concession on either side that maybe they were wrong about any of this.

It is absolutely as you say a microcosm. But not just of the left. It is a microcosm of society.

I get that. I also get that indirect, cowardly insults are allowed to slide & even defended by you. I think you know damn well that I could crush at that weak ass coward game. You say I am better than that. I've tried to be by manning up & not hiding behind BS like middle school girls. Maybe I'll go start an innocent - he never insults anyone - thread on the link between mental health & oral hygiene.

Dude this thread is 2 years of generalizations and slap fights. If you want us to delete all of that then we need to REclose the thread. I am speaking of direct...aimed at one poster...personal...insults...

The slappy, middle school, generalized pillow fighting has been from both sides for two years on this almost.

Well, no matter if you've taken every vaccine known to man, you are now an antivaxxer for sure and your views on this will get people killed! :p
