I don't think anybody wants to shut the economy down for two months. I would hope we have options. But we need to be careful and patient. This idea that things are going to be magically better by the end of next week is optimistic. I expect we all hope it's true, but hoping and expecting are two very different things. Hope for the best, and prepare for the worst. IMO, that's what Cuomo is saying. But he was not expressing an expectation that we'll be over this thing in 7 days.

 

his argument is akin to an F5 tornado rolling through, the national weather service issuing a warning, everyone going in their basements, surviving, and then criticizing the warning and saying that tornadoes aren’t dangerous.
It gets tiresome and silly. And he isn’t open to other points of view, I almost never put anyone on ignore but I may have to finally. Polite or not, it’s not useful or constructive dialogue.

 

335 new cases and 14 more deaths so far today in Louisiana. Wherever there is testing (and it is expanding out here now), there is death and new cases.

 

I did not state my thoughts clearly enough counselor. I'm going crazy penned up like a chicken LOL. Trump was wrong in saying that it was FDA approved for COVID-19 but I know of a few doctors who have been accumulating those drugs for weeks due to positive treatments with them.
If New York has positive results I'm sure California will be right behind them.

Now who is misinterpreting what I said. Where did I say anything close that this would be over in 7 days. I said just the opposite talking about future waves of cases etc.

 

Tilly, I want to preface my point by saying that I'm not advocating we ban Fever, but you are getting way ahead of yourself. People were fearful that we would have to ration care and basically leave people to die. That still is a real possibility. We haven't reached the point yet where we can say we're anywhere close to out of the woods. So no, I don't think Fever has been more right on some of this stuff.

This is like saying that the guy who claimed the Gators would lose to UGA was right when we're down 13-10 at the end of the first half. We're all going to have to let it play out.

 

Which, according to the logic of some around here, means that the tests are killing people. :/

Honestly, I am so far past the pro-Trump/ Anti-Trump cr@p on our US news sources. I have started reading Al Jazeera, The Times of Israel, Korea.net and Live Science for all of my information these days. With a tiny sprinkling of The Mirror and Yahoo Finance.

 

Go back and take a look at the the post I responded to with the tweet. That's what the guy Fever quoted was claiming. I'll even quote it for you:

He believes it happened. That’s good enough. Much like when Fauci says evidence is anecdotal and Trump says he believes it works.

I disagree with most of fever’s takes but asking for him be banned is ridiculous. Those of you that want to live in an echo chamber, just block all posters that you disagree with and problem solved.

 

You weren't here during the election. That dude was basically a spam-bot. I was tempted to ignore, but like you I feel the ignore is somewhat for the weakminded.

 

It's legal to give him the drug. And they gave him the proper warnings. That's why we're testing it, to see if the anecdotes can be proven.
