Where do you live that half of the people dont take it serious? I live in a red state and everyone that I know is taking it serious. Some d9nt think it's as big a deal as others, but they are all following directives.

You are right most are starting to call this out for what it is. Govt/media induced panic hysteria that isn't warranted and now that they see they wont have a paycheck and lose their insurance and the rest they are now starting to fight back. If Trump sticks to what he hinted at in his late night tweet the people will back him and demand those Democrat governors and Gov DeWine cut the draconian nonsense out.

Italy said hello even bigger during their last big flu surge - care to look at those numbers?

If they had this hype and counters for deaths with the flu no one would ever leave the house again it would dwarf this so much.

I've been in North Carolina, Georgia and now Tennessee. All 3 states are pretty much like Florida mostly take out for restaurants and large attractions closed. Happy to report the Smokies is open but today will be forced to stay inside, raining pretty good. That means lots of board games with the family. Good thing I bought some beverages .

There were fools on this board 2 weeks ago who said "this is a hoax to attack the president" and "this is nothing more than the flu." Both flew directly in the face of all facts and every expert, and have now been proven irrefutably proven wrong.

Most rational people CAN learn - it may require repeated exposure to educated sources other than what they normally see and often requires personal experience. Most folks now see corona for the major issue it is.

But, there will always be two types of people (nonpartisan - left and right) who don't come around. Those who bask in the limelight given to jokers and fools. They seek attention by being outrageous and pray one day to also be right on something, anything. Then you have the synchophants - they goose-step to their grave. Some of both around despite the fact that even the right wing, agenda media has come to realize: they are not smarter than the scientist who study this... every day. Neither of these groups reforms b/c their belief is more than rationale or emotional - it defines their existence and meaning. Changing it means personal change - very hard.

Bingo - Trump is paying attention to the people finally on this nonsense. Look for him to finally put some talk out there we can't go too far on this lockdown mess one week from today. The pressure will be on those Trump hating Governors to take ownership of the draconian no work lockdowns themselves. I bet the pressure then from their state's voters will be too much for them to continue the Anti-Trump wreck the economy for a year operation.

trump doesn’t give a s*it about our health-he’s realizing he will be relocated to Mar-A-Lago permanently and his presidency viewed an abject failure, worse than Carter’s, if stores and restaurants stay closed, whether it’s the right decision or not. Maybe he should have given this some thought in January before deciding to NOT manufacture test kits and saying its under control and going to disappear. Poof. Gone. Ha.

all this anti Trump conspiracy crap in the face of a pandemic is simply nonsense that you enjoy pedaling to keep your guy a victim. No more no less.

Best entertainment I’ve had in the week since I’ve had to close my business and send everyone to work at home.

1957-1958 Pandemic (H2N2 virus) | Pandemic Influenza (Flu) | CDC

    1957-1958 Pandemic (H2N2 virus)

In February 1957, a new influenza A (H2N2) virus emerged in East Asia, triggering a pandemic (“Asian Flu”). This H2N2 virus was comprised of three different genes from an H2N2 virus that originated from an avian influenza A virus, including the H2 hemagglutinin and the N2 neuraminidase genes. It was first reported in Singapore in February 1957, Hong Kong in April 1957, and in coastal cities in the United States in summer 1957. The estimated number of deaths was 1.1 million worldwide and 116,000 in the United States.
    --------------------------

Nice spin job when the numbers in the U.S. are supporting the conspiracists big time so far in the U.S. The nonsense would be wrecking the economy for years instead of just the year already baked in on something that is a blip on the radar to the flu season and a small fraction of what H1N1 or above did back when we did nothing like this.

Vaccine and some immunity to the flu.

No vaccine and no immunity at all to Covid-19.

There really is nothing else to say.

It's like the opioid crisis again, Trump doesn't understand that there is more to it than just saying the words out loud.

Yes there is 57-58 pandemic (about 116k US deaths)and H1N1 Pandemic (around 12,500k US deaths) and actions taken about those.

Difference - no scheme to wreck the economy since we saw how it acted early with China and Korea and there were no hyped counters of cases and deaths being run on media 24/7.

Just search google - shouldn't take you but a minute.

    What the?

No, the numbers don't support conspiracists. We are in an exponential trend that is dwarfing h1n1 over the same relative time period.
