Yeah, the backwoods sophistry is never ending. It's probably best to let him stockpile his horse paste and ignore his endless stats from trumpfreedomeagle dot com.

I just do not understand these people, some of them holding themselves out to be pro-life Christians AND parents, discussing the minimal risk to children Covid-19 supposedly presents. In a civilized country, one child on a respirator or dying from Covid is not acceptable when we have ways to prevent it. It might seem like a minimal risk until it happens to your child or relative. Then I bet it's a big deal. If I were a parent of a school age child, I would be furious that unmasked kids are allowed in the same classroom as my most certainly masked child would be. Parents need to start suing schools over their lax Covid preventative measures when kids start getting sick.
We could have easily vaxxed and masked ourselves out of this mess months ago but for the stubborn and the ignorant.

Yet fully vaccinated are far less likely to get sick, be hospitalized, or die from covid.

In other words, being vaccinated is superior than not, even if the vaccinations wane and will require a booster.

Why is it that, without a single reference to any source, I simply don't and can't accept any of these off the cuff suppositions from some posters? Seems credibility actually does count for something.

It is not difficult to find data of vaccine versus Delta variant. And the bottom line is each vaccine provides significant protection against infection, and even greater protection against hospitalization and death. To claim Delta ran rampant through the vaccinated is false. At worst, the Pfizer blocked 40% of possible infections, and that was an outlier study. Most had the number closer to 66% - 75%. And if vaccinated, chance of serious illness was less than 5%. Moderna had similar or better numbers.

chicken pox is fairly mild for children but can have worse side effects for adults. Plus having chicken pox opens the possibility to shingles in older adulthood (which also has a vaccine)

this idea that you only take vaccines if millions of people die is ridiculous. Why suffer from an signicant illness even if it isn’t life threatening.

The insults are largely due / from to a couple of posters trolling the thread with misinformation. I looked over the past couple of pages and I didn’t really see anything out of the ordinary.

Do your research. If you think the vaccine is working as advertised. We will disagree. The data speaks otherwise. Now I am sure you probably have changed how you perceive the vaccines were advertised. But these things did not work they way they were sold. In fact our moron public health officials and leaders sold it to the point that a lot of people went out Covid positive thinking they had a cold or allergies.

The recent data is starting to show otherwise.

I do think there is a small immune boost. At what long term risk? We don’t know. And with some short term issues…

The risk/benefit is going to be different for every single individual. Based on many factors. Health. Anxiety. Personality. Each person is different.

The number one way to fight Covid is what the fauc said before this thing began. Get good sleep. Eat healthy. Exercise. Be in good health. The data shows if you are in good health this disease is not that dangerous.

From there we have many different ways to navigate this thing. From new drugs to use as a prophylactic (The data shows them to be much more that than a vaccine) to new drugs to use as a therapeutic to old drugs and supplements to use.

Just because the vaccine is the right for for one person does not make it the right way for another.

Especially considering the ignoring of natural immunity and science.

As a reminder, the data you posted showed that, on an age adjusted basis, the vaccine lowered fatality rates by over 70%. Which is why you don't want to talk specific numbers.

    I have already posted sources.

Here is Vermont. 76% of the September deaths are fully vaccinated.

    https://www.healthvermont.gov/sites...pdf/COVID19-Weekly-Data-Summary-10-8-2021.pdf

Scotland Public Health Scotland shows the same.

Public Health England is just under 70%.

What is an individual's relative age-adjusted likelihood of dying with the vaccine compared to without it? As a reminder, if a population is 100% vaccinated, 100% of all deaths will be breakthroughs, which makes your statistics more than useless if you don't account for the age adjusted vaccination rate.

None of those sources substantiate these suppositions
" The fact we had a majority seeking monoclonal treatments in South Florida when the thing was in full swing down there in mid September. All signs that the vaccinated were a major part of the delta surge."

As md stated, you do not account for age-adjusted data at all.
