I used to ask why is there a chicken pox vaccine? It is a minor virus that harms almost no one long term but the annual cost from missed work was in the billions each year. My 21 year old son got corona. One er trip and two weeks of missed work. There is a cost to that. Antivaxxers keep making stupid arguments. I get its a matter of choice but if people keep making stupid choices, I don't know what the solution is.

Nonsense. Delta spread through the vaccinated like it did the unvaccinated. That is just flat reality.

    No, it is not.

    • Unvaccinated people remain the greatest concern: The greatest risk of transmission is among unvaccinated people who are much more likely to get infected, and therefore transmit the virus. Fully vaccinated people get COVID-19 (known as breakthrough infections) less often than unvaccinated people. People infected with the Delta variant, including fully vaccinated people with symptomatic breakthrough infections, can transmit the virus to others. CDC is continuing to assess data on whether fully vaccinated people with asymptomatic breakthrough infections can transmit the virus.

why don’t you just say that you do not know anyone who is paying for either of the treatments. You don’t know anyone paying for the monoclonal treatment either. Both the vaccine and monoclonal treatments are paid for by the government. And a whole lot more is being spent on the vaccines. And the vaccinated were using the monoclonal treatments at a higher rate than the unvaccinated in South Florida back when DeSantis was promoting the treatment.

Yes the cdc continues to assess the data. The data and experiences of the delta surge show the vaccine were getting Covid like crazy. There is a reason why over half of the monoclonal treatments in South Florida back when the virus was still going like crazy in mid September were fully vaccinated.

Do you have any data that supports this claim?

Sometimes NYC isn't included in the data. Might want to check that.

Of course he doesn't. He'll trot out some feeble anecdotal crap and continue to dismiss the science in front of him because he doesn't like what it's telling him. Rinse and repeat.

Thanks, that is useful. Now the numbers for New York as a whole are much more in line with the other chart.

My numbers are based on deaths since Oct 31 2020. This is because 95 made a big deal about the linked study ending in Oct 2020 and not including the winter spike in the blue states. But the blue states have done better since Oct 2020 too. And NY has done better than FL has in that time as well.

Yeah, let's play with numbers until we get them where we want them. You have fun with that. The rational people will look at the real numbers and make their own minds up. Keep up the great work trying to make FL look bad.

If you take the data that is hard to find it is not hard to extrapolate that the vaccinated were getting and spreading delta. The death numbers we now see when we get them (crazy we don’t have all of them as if the death numbers showed mainly unvaccinated it would be much easier to sell the idea of taking this new drug). The fact we had a majority seeking monoclonal treatments in South Florida when the thing was in full swing down there in mid September. All signs that the vaccinated were a major part of the delta surge.

No, that's what you were trying to do when you made a big deal about the study ending in Oct 2020. I was just pointing out that the data continued to show blue states doing better than red states after the study ended. And it doesn't take any effort to make Florida look bad - bottom 10 in both cases and deaths.

Yeah, NY is something to be proud of. Wish DeSantis was more like Cuomo...

FL is middle of the road. Better than bottom of the barrell like your hero. Sorry about that one sport.

So, no, you don’t have a link to any data supporting your claims. Shocker.
