Also, of course they are anti-vaxxers. You have tried to hide behind this BS for quite some time. However, I am on your side on this. I am all for people not getting vaccinated if they choose not to. I am also for them living with the consequences of that action. I am also for not treating them with experimental mAbs and anti-viral pills. I am 100% for being consistent in this.

You get sick, you chose not to get vaccinated and try to introduce your immune system to the disease, then stay home with your vitamin C, D and zinc and remove yourself from society for 14 days. According to you and other data, 99.98% of those people will be just fine, so stop clogging up doctor's offices, hospitals and medical centers since if there is nothing that they can do other than push experimental drugs.

 

Just curious but, where do you think "study data" comes from vs "real-world data"? Do you think that there are just a bunch of men and women studying cellulr transport in petri dishes??

 

Sorry. Disagree. Anti-vaxers are people who are against vaccines. Period. I know several pro vax people that are still hesitant on this one. All the twisting in the world can not accurately equate the two.

Anti-vaxxer = term assigned for those who oppose some or all vaccines.

There is a HUGE difference between the small subset of people who honestly said "I just want to wait until we learn more". That does not describe the poster in question or most of the people not vaccinated at this point.

 

I disagree. Some of the most giving, selfless people I know are hesitant.
What I dont understand is when people make it their goal to convince others not to. THAT is when it becomes selfish to me, because now you are encouraging others not to do it and making it about more than your personal choice.

Frankly, I don't give a damn at this point. However, I am getting tired of carrying the cost for those people's medical bills at this point and the toll that they have taken and are taking on our medical system. Ironically, the same people who have bi-atched and complained about the poor health of "those people" and claim that "they" are driving up the cost of health care for everyone have now become "those people".

 

It's pretty simple, covid killed far more police than any other cause of line of duty deaths. Yes, it's only a small percentage, but it's still 386 excess deaths of people who would not have been dead were it not for covid. There is nothing wrong with the reporting on this especially in light of police officers having to be in public every day yet quite a bit of vax resistance among their ranks. Also, covid death numbers comprise about 46% of gun shots deaths & 69% of auto crash deaths (two leading causes of line of duty deaths) over the past 16 years.

 

A greater number of NPIs were in place last October (greater distancing (fewer crowded live events, less travel, more limits), more masks, etc.). In addition, Delta Variant is more transmissible and was not widespread a year ago.

 

i totally believe this is true. But the hesitancy is primarily based on choosing to consume bad information sources. At some point are people accountable for these choices, and when this choice of ignorance hurts other people, is that selfish?

 

No. Selfish is an act motivation and intent in my opinion.
A person can 100% be fooled by bad info and still not be selfish from a intentional or motivational standpoint.

"study data" or lab data is that. Hardly ever does data from a lab study translate into what happens in the real world. When studies review real-world data (the articles I sent you), you know what is really happening vs what some lab study said should happen.

Lockdowns yes which we know work to temporarily stop the spread at an unfortunate great cost. However, even areas with very high vaccination rates are having issues with Delta. The north will have the same problem Florida had during the summer this winter.
