Sweeping new vaccine mandates for 100 million Americans

 

OK thanks - just found it (CNBC dated today):

• Earlier this year, Biden ordered all federal employees to prove their coronavirus vaccination status or submit to a series of rigorous safety protocols.
• Thursday’s order will remove the option for rigorous testing, as the United States struggles to contain the highly contagious delta variant.

 

I don’t agree with them. Because they are selfish and shitty. No way around it pal. You’re not willing to make a sacrifice for the common good because you’re “healthy.” We get it. 100% pure concentrated selfishness.

 

Wondering if this line of thinking is ok for those out of shape slobs, druggies, alcoholics, and smokers that have driven up health care costs for decades?

 

Last I looked, obesity, smoking, alcohol, and drugs aren't communicable diseases. They also don't have a vaccine, though there have been many attempts at magic pills to cure obesity. None have been anywhere near as effective as the COVID vaccine, however.

With that said, I have no issue with smokers, addicts, and those morbidly obese paying more for health insurance. I also have no issue with health insurance companies paying for diet help, smoking cessation, and addition help, because in the long run, it will save money for everyone. I also have more sympathy for those who are overweight, or have some sort of addiction, because the answer isn't as easy as visiting the local pharmacy and getting a shot in the arm. It is that easy for COVID.

 

From a cost perspective, maybe. But in terms of those people’s actions having an effect on the health of OTHERS it’s simply a false equivalence.

 

An extensive study published in the American Economic Review in the 90s concluded that smokers were "net contributors" to society taking account of the health costs, productivity costs, taxes they pay etc. The real kicker was that they die younger & take far less SS. So, smoke up for America!

 

Once I get my 4th shot, can I finally stop wearing a mask?

 

. Tell that to someone who has had a loved one killed by a drunk driver. Or the family of the guy down in Ft Lauderdale who was randomly shot while dinning with his wife and daughter, by a druggie that was tripping. I refuse to be chastised for not getting vaccinated. It’s a personal decision for each American citizen.

Biden‘s announcement today should have everyone concerned. He exempted the US postal service, because their union objected. That union supported Biden. He can pick and choose who to require the vaccine and who doesn’t? Sounds like a dictator, and I’m sure all based on science. Does none of this concern you?

There are laws against drunk driving and murder. Your ass goes to jail when you hurt other people. Again, just a horrible false equivalence.

 

Why should it concern me? Nobody is being forced to do anything. Work for the government and don’t want to get vaccinated? GET A NEW JOB!

Yeah I don’t see how that’s any different than any other OSHA regulation for a company with 100+ employees.

Nobody is getting forced vaccinations. You can get tested if you don’t want to get vaxed and if you don’t want either you can go work for a smaller company.
