You are correct again, it would be safer to wear a mask based on science and fact. But no, I don’t wear a mask at home with fam and friends. I do wear one in public. I also fasten my seatbelt when driving.

But that's precisely the point.... why shouldn't they want to? Outside of trypanophobia, what is the reason to not want to? I mean, what rational basis is there to really think the vaccine is worse that continuing to risk catching, spreading, getting sick, or dying, of a disease where we have a readily available vaccine that significantly mitigates illness? There have been over 5.33 BILLION doses administered globally. That's 5,330,000,000. At last count, over 4.5 MILLION deaths attributed to covid. Don't believe that number.... let's cut it in half. Say only two million are dead from covid. And it morphs and mutates the more we let it spread, leading to new variants like delta that are more infectious. The next one could be more deadly. Why should we take that risk?

Instead of arguing over masks in schools, travel restrictions, festivals/gatherings, why isn't everyone making it a point to get vaccinated so we can put this thing in the rearview mirror? I don't get it...

Good to see you don't wear your mask ("seatbelt") in the most dangerous circumstances. Where it spreads most commonly. The home.

But for theater...the public gets to see you where one.

The vaccine is not going to put this thing in the rearview mirror. It is not going anywhere.

And the vaccinated are a huge part of the spread.

I will say...why are we not talking about natural immunity? Why in the world are we pushing this vaccine on those who have had Covid?

How many hours/days after exposure does it take for covid to register on a test? I don't know the answer to that question, but I suspect you don't either. Common sense tells me it'd pretty stupid to be exposed to covid, and go about my regular business, potentially exposing others, until it's been long enough to confirm whether I actually picked it up or not.

I mean, I could make out with a hospitalized covid patient, walk out of the room, have a covid test taken, and it would likely come back negative. Doesn't mean I should go to my office immediately after...

A lot of the talk forum stuff is done for entertainment purposes. People having fun with it. Or venting.

But I always say - "What is your objective?"

If someone really wants to encourage someone or convince them - how do you go about that?

Put into context......for those who are married or have significant others. You want to convince your spouse or significant other to do something.

    What would your approach be?

I realize there's a lot of variables there - but the same can be said for society. Our population comes in all shapes and sizes in both spirit and mentality.

How do you creatively get to the objective?

theater? Ha, is that how you think - kind of telling. No, just wear it to prevent spread - as proven. Just like seatbelts. But agree the science isn’t as easy to understand as seatbelts so some are unable to understand. Or those that are selfish and narcissistic.

I have tried to express my real world experiences with people while making it clear that I don't ascribe any political value to my decision to get vaccinated. I have turned off the major news networks a long time now and only decided to get vaccinated after being almost one year out from infection AND seeing multiple friends, acquaintances and patients lives randomly wrecked by Covid through a decline in lung function, crippling medical expenses as well as multiple deaths. 2 officers under 40 in my area in roughly 2 to 3 weeks alone. I point no fingers and make no judgments but None of it matters. It is a freedom issue, pharma issue, political issue etc etc

Rarely is it a legitimate medical reason supported by a lifestyle that parallels their vaccine stance but usually one full of hypocrisies. How Many people truly understand every chemical they put in their body each day while eating processed foods, smoking cigarettes, vaping, drinking energy drinks, etc etc

But the vaccine is where they draw the line....

I guess it depends on how you define idiot. I think people are situational stupid. The My Pillow guy made a fortune so he had some sort of business sense, he also believes complete rubbish. I think simple IQ tests don't measure everything.

I trust that those in my limited circle live as safely as I do, and they expect the same of me. Not all households are created equal and if I thought my 18 year old son or 21 year old daughter were not living safely they would be out. Thankfully we are all vaccinated so that helps and assures me that I will not end up in ICU with a tube down my throat due to covid.

So the vaccinated should also be quarantined?

We may as well shut down if this is the case. And I am sure some think we should…

Yes. It is pure theater if you are not wearing it where the virus spreads the most and around the people you care for the most.
