Yep, it seems pretty standard for people who fall down conspiracy rabbit holes. I’ve seen it before.

It’s like people just become incapable of logical reasoning. Almost strikes me as a sort of mental breakdown related to information overload, not being able to process anything rationally. It’s bizarre stuff. A lot of the 1/6 people came off like that.

Just because many world leaders have come out and said we need a covid reset, now Australia and New Zealand are already nothing more than police states, I really wouldn't take the threat too seriously.

For comparison purposes. Total US Citizen Deaths:

    Civil War: 655,000
    WWI: 116,500
    WWII: 405,500
    Vietnam: 58,200
    COVID-19: 650,000 (and counting)

Australia and New Zealand were going for “zero Covid”.

It actually worked pretty well for them (especially New Zealand). They have very few deaths relatively speaking. But the delta variant might force them to change strategy since it’s even more transmissible (and therefore less containable).

At the end of the day once vaccines are available that becomes the preferred strategy. But the downside to having done the “zero covid” strategy is that vaccines are largely the ONLY immunity they will have. That makes their vaccination bar even higher.

Deciding to join the party on page….1293? Holy Smokes!!! Lol

I was getting really upset lately about these idiots refusing to get vaccinated because of political/conspiracy concerns…then I started thinking…eff them! This might be a humane way of weeding out the dumbest people on the planet.

You should go to the Hall of Fame. Once you weed through the Tampa Bay Lightening threads that somehow got in there, you can go to the Chip Kelly thread. Then go to page 136 and we can discuss how infections spread.

Trust me, you will be better for it!

OT: RFK was a great man. I was 12 when he was assassinated. I woke up to that horrible news.

I have never seen a politician who captivated people like he did.

Sure, I am kind of open to that idea of standards...kind of. My concern is about the standards themselves because aside from the visually obvious, it gets trickier with what isn't seen such as the non obese who eat terribly or secretly smoke or drink etc. Plus genetics.

My other concern is that we live in a society where all these bad things are marketed (as are the cures). How do we deal with that? :

LOL at some point, perhaps some dogs give up worrying :D:eek:

Bill Phillips was well-known in the fitness industry when I worked in it back in the 1990s.

He survived covid a second time. He was unvaxxed. He had antibodies. He thought he was immune. He was life-altering wrong.

    Story and video interview.

Interesting, isn't it, how the right wing finds its boogeymen. Like Fauci, who has been the target by those who, back in 2020, were calling COVID a hoax or no worse than the flu. And, each time they are proven wrong, they just shift their targets.

Same with anyone who tells the truth about the garbage peddled on the right. "Clinton Cash; the MSM won't tell you about this?"

Decorated truth tellers like Alexander Vindman gets attacked mercilessly.

Well if my choice is to listen to a person with a long and decorated career like Dr. Fauci, or @gator95 or one of the many hacks other posters link here, I am listening to Dr. Fauci.

I guess some don’t get the joke. Many on here were quoting the AP hatchet job on Desantis touting Regeneron saying they thought Desantis was only pushing this drug because it helped his biggest donor. Is Fauci on the take also? Oh, I’m sure it’s only republicans that can do that…

The AP potentially killed people by playing politics with a potentially live saving drug. Desantis was right to call them out.

The rest of what you said was incoherent drivel. But hey, keep it up, some on here believe that garbage.

COVID Hitting Kids, Teens Harder Than Any Other Demographic in Florida (msn.com)

As the virus's highly contagious Delta variant continues to rage across the U.S., data from Florida shows that one in every four new infections involves someone 19 or younger.

Children aged 12 and younger now have a test positivity rate of 23 percent, according to the most recent weekly report. For teenagers 12 to 19, the positivity rate is nearly 25 percent. For both age groups combined, that represents a total of 37,641 new cases in the past week.

By comparison, the Florida demographic with the next highest positivity rate was adults aged 20 to 29, with 21 percent, while the lowest positivity rate was found in adults 65 or older, with just 14 percent.

The data, compiled from August 13 to 19, comes after Florida recently reported having the highest rate of hospitalizations among children in the U.S., with more than 50 new patients a day. In general, Florida is one of the worst-hit states when it comes to coronavirus infections and hospitalizations.

Here in TX, into our 3rd week, our school district has about 30,000 students. Cases started low, but are now averaging 60 new cases a day. We started out as no mask mandate but this week are going to mask mandate (I'm not sure how that squares with governors no mask mandate edict)

    Christopher Green was a libertarian
Christopher Green didn't want to be told what to do.
    Christopher Green didn't get vaccinated.
    Christopher Green got Covid
Christopher Green died at age 53

I think I might have posted this video earlier, but Green died since the video was published by the NYT.
