I understand that, but I was asking about the part about antivaxxers who are so accepting of the mRNA treatments. Same as folks who will take livestock medication but won't get vaccinated.

 

I just don't see how doctors walking out on the patients is going to encourage more people to get vaccinated. Is the idea that they are willing to let these patients die? If not, what is the leverage?

I admit a lot of this goes over my head but some is pretty interesting they have reports on SARS all the way back from 2007 kind of interesting to read, they for the most part, predicted this pandemic

what makes you think they haven't been doing that? they have been providing answers, people don't like the answers so they disqualify the source, no matter how reputable it is.

 

I can only guess that they think it will show that "your doctor" is fed up with the unvaxed. But, walking out breaks the rule of doing no harm.

Sounds like this may have been theater, however (if they were indeed off duty).

 

I've been pointing this out since the beginning, back in late-March or early-April of last year. Communities have generally struggled with getting people that have answers together with people that have questions. Locally, I've seen a few closed townhalls where people tend to ask layup questions that are mostly addressed in faux FAQ lists.

Here are some of the current issues, from my point of view:

Hospitals are not reporting what they are seeing with as much accuracy as what people are requesting. We should be having breakdowns that include the following:

- infants, young children, young adolescents, older children (this is crucial to getting folks to buy into the validity/necessity of whether or not children need to get vaccinated, and if so, is there a strong division based on age).
- we should have breakdowns not only at the age groupings, but also based on whether or not people have had "known reinfections" or "suspected reinfections." I'm not seeing folks talk about the fact that over 10% of our population has already had COVID; I'm also not seeing folks talk about the fact that reinfection rates completely blow away vaccination + infection rates in our country. I believe this is important because it may relieve those who have not had COVID from having a false sense of security because they are less protected against something like the Delta variant (I made reference to this situation, upstream).
- we see "hospitalization rates" but we don't see ICU vs. non-ICU with COVID
- We should have (at least in local communities, but preferably consolidated at the state level) a genuine effort to field questions and address them. I haven't tried lately, but I have called at various times from March through January, and you can't talk to a person that is able to help you, let alone someone that genuinely wants to help you. I have long since given up on that aspect, as I'm sure others have as well.

I understand that the state has cut off a lot of communications, but that shouldn't be the end all be all. Hospitals and media can still work together to provide a lot of this information.

So no, not only are questions not being answered, but it's frustrating how little people care about the fact that folks want more information and are not having it provided. None of what I've mentioned above is high level information, but it is information that could be very useful. This is just stuff off the top of my head, but I've also mentioned that a breakdown of average cost per case of COVID by age might also be helpful.

(also, I'd LOVE to see a townhall specifically geared towards addressing the vaccine hesitant and the full-on anti-vax crowd...go seek out these people and make an effort to host it for public access)

You would really benefit from better reading comprehension, of both posts on this message board and the covid studies that you link here.

 

If they were off duty then they really didnt walk out, right? It was just a protest. I didnt see where they were off duty in the article but perhaps they were.

 

No, I just choose to not play politics with Covid. Try it sometime.

When you get shown that the hack job on DeSantis was a complete sham, you try to change the subject. I guess if you don't have anything to come back on, you resort to personal attacks. Not surprising.

 

How much time should we waste on people who intentionally reject common knowledge? What questions do you want me to ask? Do you honestly think they care about what I say?

The trust is so weak and tribalism so deep in most cases it can't be overcome, except possibly by actually getting sick.

 

General Vaccine hesitancy is often from the far left too though. (Not covid, but general)

 

However much time it is, it should exceed the amount of time a person spends complaining about or hating on the unvaccinated. If we can agree on that point, then I believe we've already stepped together in the right direction.

Of hospitals, why aren't you producing the data in a more granular form?
Of the state, why won't you compel the hospitals to produce granulated data?
Of the people, why won't you seek to answer somebody's questions or address their concerns before you bash them?

Depending on the presentation, absolutely. I think some people write themselves off before they get a chance to begin just in their presentation style.

Even in that, there is the opportunity for folks to learn from the mistakes of others. But people have made "unvaccinated" a thing of shame; just as people made "COVID-19+" a thing of shame when this all came down last year...this discourages others from talking about it and sharing their situations. Those who weren't shamed have been more likely to come forwards to offer enlightening takes even if only in smaller circles.

(@gatordavisl I have no problem with you thinking that what I wrote is funny, but that makes it harder for me to believe that you are taking this issue seriously)
