As I posted earlier in this thread, I believe this has been DeathSantis' goal all along. The only rational explanation for his utter indifference to the number of Floridians contracting (and dying of) COVID-19 was to achieve herd immunity as quickly as possible. If you can't get then vaccinated, let them get sick. He is banking on an "acceptable" number of deaths to get there.

At what cost?

 

Nonsense. You have no data for the delta variant, which is much more contagious all around. And the data from St Johns County, which shows a doubling of covid in kids in a week indicates that kids are transmitting covid.

 

Now picture the non-crazy Republican that has to pander to THAT. Yes, many of them are crazy. But many aren’t. They just choose to use people like this as pawns. To set them up.

No ethics or shame. No leadership. Those people are just scum.

Youth, Delta variant behind UK COVID surge

Two new studies look at the Delta variant (B1617) behind the UK COVID-19 surge, with the first noting that young people are helping drive the exponential growth of COVID-19 cases in England.

Young people are behind the surge, with a 5-fold higher rate of COVID-19 test positivity among children 5 to 12 years (0.35% prevalence) and adults 18 to 24 (0.36% prevalence) than in those 65 or older.

 

Interesting and certainly positive news, though may take a bit to find applications

My mother in law went to get monoclonal antibodies today. The lady that administered it to her said that she's got covid 3 times. The third time the worst and she had to go on a vent

As to your link, is there something in the 68 pages of data and graphs you wish to comment on? It is an impressive compilation of UK data. Amazing what you can do when you have true socialized health care.

I personally haven't taken it or anything else, But in Florida or at least around the Gainesville area all the farm stores are sold out. I know multiple people who have taken it when they first got Covid and after a couple days they recovered from Covid. I think they followed the instruction given by Doctors, I'm sure it wasn't meant for them to use the animal grade version though either way it did work. And several have been taking a small doses for over a year and haven't caught covid and haven't been vaccinated. I'm sure like every other type of medicine there's a huge list of potential side effects.
It's obvious this is helping some folks recover quicker and most doctor offices do have it in stock.

The Canadian data suggested that the Moderna vaccine poses a 2.5 times higher risk of causing the condition than the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine. Both vaccines take two shots and use the same mRNA technology to spur an immune response to COVID-19.

 

I am old enough to remember when wearing a seat belt became the law. My dad used to buckle his and then stuff it between the seats. The number of people who just spouted the stupidest nonsense not to justify not wearing seat belts is strangely reminiscent of the antivaxxers now.

 

Honestly, when I go to a restaurant and see the kitchen staff masked up I feel better about eating the food.
