Would be funnier if you actually picked a funny bit. But like the rest of your beliefs over the last year or so, a total fail. Keep trying Sport.

I can keep this up all day. Just feel bad for everyone else having to see your pathetic attempt at humor. But it’s par for the course with you sport. So know we know you aren’t good at believing that lockdowns work, schools should be closed and you aren’t good at humor. I’m sure there is something you do well…

I can do this forever. I rather enjoy calling out all the times you’ve been wrong over the past 18 months. Captain lockdown to the rescue!

Stop. Please. We all get the idea but it just cheapens the thread. Better to Just don’t respond.

My step sister's boyfriend is very ill right now. They both presume themselves to have COVID (they have all the classic symptoms). His oxygen level (as measured by an at home sensor) is sitting at around 88%. He is refusing medical care and is unvaccinated. He is VERY overweight and also a hardcore COVID denier. It just boggles my mind that people are willing to die instead of acknowledge the reality of the pandemic.

Those graphs don't tell me anything.

To some degree comparing FL and CA is a bit like comparing apples and oranges. But it is as good as any.

First we look at deaths through March 21

California vs. Florida: Who handled COVID-19 better?

    upload_2021-8-19_22-13-18.jpeg

CA did much better starting out, and had stricter and longer lock downs. However, as time wore on, CA opened up later, closer to the winter season CA surged back.

So it seems that the masking/lock downs did work, they just won't last forever.

Now let's look at more recently.

California doing much better with Delta variant than Florida, Texas. Here's why

Watch: Florida's shocking rise in COVID cases dwarfs California

    See interactive graph in article.

Seems pretty obvious who is handling this better.

Thanks Rick. We may not agree on all the covid issues, but I appreciate your response and your explanation of how you find value in the video.

From December 2020? One would think if it had any credibility it would have proven out by now

How would you measure "enforcement seriousness?" The problem in any such measurement is that it would require basically tracking a very large number of people for their entire time in public and their mask usage to include type of mask and length of time in x types of settings and knowing whether in any specific setting they were exposed to covid and how they were exposed. A lot of unknowns. Too many imo.

The Danish study attempted this but the flaws call into question the results. For instance relying on self-reported usage, not having specific info about settings where the people in the experiment might have been exposed or not to covid etc. So whatever findings occurred, they are indirect and based on a more distant and incomplete measurements that could have very well completely change the findings.
I point this out bc claiming that masks don't work at all is as wrong as claiming they completely work.

Early in the pandemic, my community (and my county) was supposedly not very compliant based on some investigation, but no where could I find how compliance was measured with any specificity--and it was not for lack of effort on my part. All told it seems that non-N95 cloths masks are not greatly effective, maybe providing as little as 20 minutes of protection in a closed environment. But even this is up for question. It could be they provide more than we think but that it can vary depending on things like whether covid was aerosolized in a closed environment, and whether people were wearing masks correctly, time they spent in that environment etc.

Despite or perhaps given that uncertainty, leaning toward masking vs not is imo the rational, reasonable measure (along with others).

A thought just occurred in to me. During the election there was this great push to get " souls to the polls " to elect sleepy Joe, so where is the " souls to the clinic s or cvs" to get African-americans,who are woefully under -vacinated to get the shots? Guess there usefulness is over.

You mean like this effort from this past February? Or this one from April? Perhaps this story from June is better?

Guess their usefulness is not over, and somebody just likes to remain uninformed and whiny?
