Thanks. I need it. I don’t know why she wanted me to take her and put me at risk. I told her to get an Uber. That didn’t go over well :D

Seriously, I hope she doesn’t have it. She’s suffered enough recently

Very detailed article and the author's opinion on the Mask studies that we are basing masking on. I do think masking does zero to stop covid, but I know others think differently.

    Masks help...

“The preponderance of evidence indicates that mask wearing reduces transmissibility per contact by reducing transmission of infected respiratory particles in both laboratory and clinical contexts. Public mask wearing is most effective at reducing spread of the virus when compliance is high.“

    https://www.pnas.org/content/118/4/e2014564118

“We find that most environments and contacts are under conditions of low virus abundance (virus-limited), where surgical masks are effective at preventing virus spread. “

Face masks effectively limit the probability of SARS-CoV-2 transmission

FYI the regeneron Polyclonal antibody has/is undergoing study for just that. I know an investigator who did the trial and they seem to think it made a big difference..

Tell the millions in India how bad Ivermectin is, they take it regularly.

Actually they didn't have data for kids under 12 as those studies were not done at the same time as the adults studies were done. That's why no EAU.

I have read is that it is more broadly effective in countries with higher rates of infection from the parasites it stops. The causal pathway seems to be that getting rid of those parasites, some of which specifically attack the immune system, leaves the patient's body better able to fight back against covid.

It also has been shown in vitro and invio cell culture to stop viral replication of SARS-CO19

Here's the latest, large study results. Ivermetcin had no effect on patient outcomes. This study has yet to be peer reviewed, but it's the largest study of its kind to date.

The people in India “take it regularly” because of parasites. They take the parasite medicine to deal with... parasites. Whodathunkit.

So it’s basically fighting off another comorbidity along with COVID, leaving the body “better able to fight back” as you say. That actually makes perfect sense. Taking it as a stand-alone seems to make less sense, at least until there is actual evidence it works as a standalone (in people who don’t actually have parasites).

Don't know if this was posted yet. Prior conversations and some research seemed to indicate that vaccinations didn't add much if any additional protection if you previously had covid. This new research indicated that among those that were previously infected, your odds of getting Covid are twice as high if you are unvaccinated.

Shots give COVID-19 survivors big immune boost, studies show

Studies in this review were low quality and the majority of studies were non-peer-reviewed trials with methodological variances and inadequate statistical significance, no definitive conclusions can be drawn.
