@FeeBart: your name came up at one 117 of the Coronavirus in the US thread in Too Hot. I wanted to leave you alone, but @mutz87 extorted me into tagging you. Quid ProQuo. He offered me toilet paper.

If we're 11-14 days behind Italy, then we're about 8-11 days before we start seeing larger death tolls. Italy is over 4000 now, but 40% of those deaths have happened in the last 4 days.

1st case in NY was March 1st. That is 3 weeks tomorrow. Deaths will rise exponentially from here on out.
Up to 2 weeks for symptoms, death a week to 2 later

    What’s Tucker Carlson talking about?
    • The real risk during this pandemic is the lawlessness being promoted by democratic cities. No lie. Has a story about someone under house arrest for a terrible crime. Sadly he wasn’t black.
    • Border tightening to keep infected foreigners out.
    • Segment about evidence to optimistic about malaria drug treatment.
It’s only halftime. The right news is wacko.

New York state has just went wild testing people now that a ton of tests are out there. If they keep it up or other states follow suit they can drive the national death rate % to 1% probably and they will show the true rate is about the same as the flu when you work with realistic infection numbers.

"The department “is shifting from a strategy of case containment to slowing disease transmission and averting excess morbidity and mortality,” according to the letter. Doctors should test symptomatic patients only when “a diagnostic result will change clinical management or inform public health response."

    That is a sobering statement.

Fast and numerous testing is what saved SK. It allowed them quickly to isolate those who were positive but asymptomatic so they wouldn't spread the disease. America missed their window on testing to do this effectively. Hopefully now that testing is finally ramping up, we do a marginal job of isolation.

Anderson Cooper quarantined. Broadcasting now from home.

Anderson Cooper staffer being tested for coronavirus

After producing a coronavirus town hall meeting on CNN, a staffer for Anderson Cooper has a potential case of COVID-19 and is being tested.

A message went out to all CNN staffers at their new Hudson Yards headquarters today, stating, “We want you to know that this afternoon we were made aware of a potential case of COVID-19 with a staff member of the “AC 360” team.

“This person presented symptoms, contacted their doctor right away and has been advised to self-quarantine out of an abundance of caution.

“Similarly, we have asked all of the people that have been in close, prolonged contact with the ‘AC 360’ staffer, to also quarantine. We will be able to provide further guidance as soon as test results are available.

Maybe more restrictions but they haven't tested like NY state that is why NY state's death rate % is well lower than theirs now.

Same reporter asked Pence the same question a few minutes later in the same PC. Pence addressed it appropriately. The kindest thing Trump could do right now is shut up.

I'm just gonna start reading your posts as optimistic and hopeful rather than conspiratorial and contrarian.

OK but if anyone thinks I am pulling this out of my rear we can compare South Korea's and New York's death rate in a week and NY will continue to blow theirs out of the water (on the good side) due to this wildfire testing they are doing helping to show how many people really were infected there.
