That's not what we are debating. Cruise ships aren't forcing anyone to be vaccinated by requiring their passengers be vaccinated.

 

Nope, but you can tell them you won't serve them if they aren't unless you have government step in to stop them. I can't force a person to wear a shirt, but, if I owned a restaurant, I can refuse to serve them. They can continue to not wear a shirt or be served in the restaurant, but not both.

 

not wearing a shirt in a food establishment is a health code violation, last i heard not being vacinnated was not.

 

So I did hear him correctly and he is doubling down. I hope he's right. Bit I don't think so. Surprised, because I never considered him stupid.

 

Murdoch must have made the call at Fox News, to get control of his nutjobs (at least on this one issue). Probably some other puppet masters on the right that decided enough was enough. Seems like it must be coordinated, since it’s multiple people.

Supposedly the White House had high level talks with Fox specifically. To be a fly on the wall lol.

It was getting to the point you’d think lawsuits and advertisers pulling out were going to be an issue. At the end of the day that might be the real driver of this.

 

Those rules have nothing to do with health codes. A restaurant can, and many do, legally serve people without shirts. The business can set a dress code. Because nobody working for the government said they can't.

That's not a health code violation. Have you never been in a beach bar? There is no law that says people have to wear shirts in restaurants.

 

by my definition, you support a socialist policy. To be clear I will give my def of a socialist policy. First, my def of ownership. Ownership is a basket of decision rights. Rarely does an "owner" own the whole basket. Take my car, house & dog. I owe nothing on any of them & yet, the decisions I make regarding them have some restrictions - I do not own the entire basket. A socialist policy is a policy that takes a decision right or rights from the "owner" & transfers it to society, the gov or some collective.

 

In fact, I've been to restaurants where the staff don't even wear underwear!

 

Hope they washed their hands in the bathroom before returning to work like the sign said.

They'll cave in, because they need money or that ship will sink.

 

I'm sure their decision is entirely driven by money, as in they probably think they'd make more money by requiring vaccines than not. Whether that's actually true, I can't say, but that's definitively the reasoning behind their current actions.

I think what'll eventually happen is that they have ships that are designated for the vaccinated and those that don't require it. In fact, I'm not sure why they aren't already doing it. It might complicate logistics, but seems to me it'd be financially viable.

 

Maybe they will, but that's still their choice. Why don't you want to let business owners choose how they want to conduct their business?

I'm actually ok with that, but if you were a business owner then you would know you'd be shooting yourself in the foot because there's not enough employees out there that want to work right now and you don't want to chase away a good employee by forcing them to do something like that

 

I actually like the fact that we have a governor that will not allow the cities or counties to force rules on our personal businesses.

 

Yeah, instead he is forcing his own rules on "our personal businesses." You know, to stop other people from doing it.
