You are right. People will believe anything. Including debunked charts and graphs about mask wearing versus COVID-19 spread.

So you don't have an answer for the charts posted, only that some people have posted stuff online that's false. Thanks for that brilliant take. Good job. I get it. You are upset that you're just finding out that all you believed in was BS. Sorry to be the one to have to break it to you.

Total fail. The truth didn't change. What he says here has not changed one iota. Masks work to prevent infected people from transmitting covid more than prevent uninfected people from acquiring covid. As for his recommendation for her not to wear a mask, it was Feb 5, 2020. There were very few known cases at that time and no one was recommending masks yet.

He said masks don't work, except for those who are symptomatic. Try reading it again.

He doesn't. He says 'infected people'. Nothing has changed.

My bad he didn't say that then. But we know asymptomatic people don't transmit Covid anywhere close to someone who is showing symptoms

Maybe I'm just a glutton? Actually, I enjoy the writing exercise. I've done my fair share of copywriting in the day, and found that argumentative writing, like on this site, really gets the creative juices flowing. I don't do as much copywriting these days, but still like to keep the chops ready, if needed.

As for the mask argument, a country like Uruguay was hit hard by COVID because of a couple of factors. One, they let their guard down in February. Low case count, and no national mandate to lockdown or wear masks, only local. Two, the vaccine started to roll out in the country in February, which lead to a false sense of security, as the country did not do a great job in educating the people for the need for two doses. Last but certainly not least, the Brazil variant, which is more communicable with faster spread hit the country. As this link states, a lack of vigilance and some bad luck with the Brazil variant caused the virus to run out of control in many S. America countries.

Any chart based on 94% mask compliance in the US is useless.

You don't have lifetime immunity to chicken pox. People, albeit a small number each year, are able to be reinfected with the chicken pox virus as well. The point was, immunity, or at least a significant degree of protection is going to last much longer than the first scary reports of immunity fading after 6 months.

Except, you cannot distinguish asymptomatic (which is really PCR positive but at a low enough level that you will not get sick) vs pre-symptomatic.

The most recent CDC published data indicated that 75% of transmission was from PRE-symptomatic people in their study cohort. That would certainly indicate that having everyone wearing masks, prior to vaccination, would have significantly reduced the rate of spread.

7 day average of new cases is at the lowest since mid-march of last year, yes last year, time for fauci and the doom and gloomers to fade into the sunset.

Nearly 600,000 dead; uncounted other severe cases; long haulers. All while you constantly condemned the bearers of bad news. Even when things were bad, you were always a sunshine pumper and mocked people.
