Good. We can't allow this thread to pass the Chip Kelly thread.

There is a way to address it or say it without personalizing it.

I don’t get the point of closing this thread and starting 4-5 new ones. That doesn’t solve the problem, it just gives the problem 4-5 more threads to make unreadable...

Agree, the same people will be making the same flawed arguments that have no facts behind them. Only it will be in 4-5 different threads.

Those are some crazy numbers. Many said football couldn't be played because covid would spread thru the teams.

I quit doing the spreadsheet at the end of December. My last one had the death rate at 1.764%. I just calculated as of this morning and it is down to 1.726%. So the death rate continues its slow decline.

Try moderating one thread with 10 topics. It ends up a trainwreck.
Keeping topical threads is easier to moderate because it is limited to that topic and it keeps the political stuff in one place and medical stuff in another for instance.
The thread was absolutely the right call for several months, but it has really gone sideways. We are getting a lot of complaints about the tone in this thread. Some people want to have discussions that have nothing to do with Cuomo or schools. Others want to discuss schools, why make both sides have to hunt for the topic and have multiple subjects overrunning each other? We don't do that on the sports boards. We don't have one Tennessee thread during game week with 20 topics related to the game tangled up in one thread.

Fair enough, you know more about what goes into board moderation than me. If you say that’s easier then I’ll take your word for it. I just don’t see separate threads with specific topics stopping Cuomo from being brought up, well just have to read about him in five separate threads now is my prediction.

Nothing like getting to learn about how families. Who needs real school anyway? I mean this is next level BS.

You've got to wonder if all these teachers unions are really onboard with getting jabbed and going back to the classroom.

The thread could be renamed "trolling for suckers." I tried to keep up with it, but one person has derailed any sense of coherent information sharing. Putting that poster on ignore doesn't shield me from all those who still reply.

If by "jabbed," you mean vaccinated then my best guess is that they would all be onboard. Teachers want to be back in school. Distance learning is hard on students, but it's hard on teachers too. Everything you know as a teacher got tossed and now you must work feverishly to create new content and delivery. Yeah, I'm pretty sure the teachers want to get back in the classroom. Gatorbabe and @Emmitto might have something to say about this.

That's the point in theory. We can edit and move posts to the proper place. That keeps the thread you want to read from being overrun with topics that you don't care about. The quantity of posters in this thread has plummeted.

Why? We keep football posts during Tennessee week topical.

Well there's plenty of Florida-specific stuff in the national thread and plenty of national stuff in the Florida thread. But whatever works for you. I don't really care. My guess is one of the new covid threads will win out as the others drop off of the first page and we'll be back to one main covid thread.
