Nope. Feel quite comfortable with that. But you with schools? Talk about blunder of the year. Good job bud. Real A+ effort there.

the problem is that so many on here cannot see past the fact desantis is a republican, so no matter what he does he gets ripped. meanwhile goldenboy cuomo, bookwritter ,emmy winner is shown to be a liar and a fraud and it is ok.

I think there is a lot of truth to what you’re saying. Desantis does get a bad rap from people just because he’s a pub.

Plus this being a Florida gator message board, Desantis is going to be discussed more as a lot of posters here are from Florida.

For the life of me I don’t know why you’re so hung up on Cuomo. There are so many aspects of this virus that aren’t political but you seem so hung up on this and you can’t stop redirecting the convo back to Cuomo. Are you a New Yorker?

you miss the point, cuomo was being hailed as the posterchild for how to handle the pandemic, then it turns out he lied about who sent the infected patients to the nursing homes, lied when he said it was the staffs, not the patients who gave it to others, causing at last count over 12,000 deaths, plus his tied to the hip media brother would never, ever criticize him but boy, if you are a republican, watch out.

Again, this is a Florida gator message board. Desantis is the governor of many on this board. Naturally he’s going to get criticized more than a governor from any other state. When it happens, maybe try discussing the merit of the criticism rather than making your Cuomo/nursing home post for the umpteenth time. Nobody here gives a shit about Cuomo.

you might want to read the topic of this thread, it says in the united states, last i looked ny was in the united states, so poor covid management in a us state seems to be in play, again, i did not send patients to their deaths and then write a book about leadership in a pandemic.

I already provided that info, can’t help it if you can’t understand it. Go back and try reading it again. And good job on the fighting for school closures. Teachers unions must be proud of you.

You said it was 300k, which is not correct. Unfortunately it is considerably higher than that.

Nope, I showed my work. Too bad for you. Shouldn’t you be a teachers rally for keeping schools closed?

Yes, you showed that if you round down the higher number, and round up the lower number, you can make the difference between the two look smaller than it really is. But I do appreciate that you showed your work so we could see that.

Not true. Would love to to hear an explanation if we’ve had 400k+ Covid deaths, and we know cancer, dementia, murders and opioid deaths are up in 2020, how we only had such a little increase in overall deaths in 2020? Car accident deaths will be down, but that’s about it. Do you think people not going to the doctor for months at a time all of a sudden cured cancer and heart disease? Sure. Sounds plausible to me...

When you actually look at the data and aren’t blinded by the partisanship, it’s quite easy to see. But hey, go back to believing every Covid death is real and lockdowns work and schools should be closed. Heck, the data has been out for 6+ months on those things and people still don’t give a crap.

As a reminder, deaths in 2020 based on preliminary statistics: 3,327,413. This is based upon the total number of deaths over the last 13 months minus the current deaths listed as being from January 2021.

Provisional Death Counts for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)

In 2019, the total number of deaths were 2,854,838.

    Products - Data Briefs - Number 395 - December 2020

    Real Math: 3,327,413-2,854,838=472,575.
    Fake Math: 3,327,413-2,854,838=300,000.

Also, the annual increase in deaths is in the realm of the 15K or so per year. So even including that would still put it well over 450K and close to 460K.
