Newsflash to the news people...the new strains are just a break off of the old and this has happened in every virus known to mankind, The scientists are not worried so no need to strike fear in regular people. They may be more contagious but what is more contagious than "contagious"? Can't we just enjoy the vaccine?

One common trait of anti-maskers. They don’t appear to be very bright.

Agreed someone hit her in the face and from the looks of it they did serious damage! Either that or her face has been deeply planted in Lays potato chips for far too many nights.

ok, you say anti-maskers are not bright, any proof, iq scores, sat scores, gpa? of course not, plus many very smart people do not wear masks, just as many as you say dumb people do, why must you generalize all people into one type, oh yeah, anti maskers must be evil trump supporters and out to kill everyone.

It’s not America they hate. They love America. It’s the American citizens populating our country they abhor.

Not all anti-maskers are stupid. Some are sociopaths, some are ignorant, some have been misinformed/conditioned. The low IQ folks are more likely to stay ignorant or misinformed after 10 months of pandemic.

Assuming that other countries like South Korea have the same population IQ distribution as us, you would expect to see more mask rebellions in those countries if mask wearing was solely correlated to IQ.

Masks limit your exposure to the virus, can minimize the severity of illness, and reduce the chances of you transmitting it to others. If this information is objectively shared with someone, where's the intelligence in not choosing to do it?

I question the IQ of any American who is surprised, shocked, or generally can’t figure out why South Koreans wear masks like it’s a standard pc of clothing and many American’s won’t/ are skeptical of the practice.

For every "anti-masker" out there, I see about 3 or 4 people talking about how they would have gotten Covid if they hadn't been wearing their masks. One, the mask hinders you from sending the virus, not receiving it. Two, depending on the mask type, they have been shown to be as weak as 10% effective. Even social distancing has become obsolete. It is quite apparent this virus is airborne can spread to a new host with minimal exposure. It could be something as simple as someone's immune system response to the virus for the ones who don't get Covid.

Your experience differs from mine. I have yet to see a single person claim to avoided the disease by wearing a mask. It would be a weird, self serving, and impossible to substantiate admission.

Social distancing is not obsolete. It is a measure to reduce the spread of the disease, particularly outdoors. It is not a guarantee. Sure, you can get the disease from a great distance indoors in the presence of directed air flow. But that does not make the practice "obsolete".

COVID-19 study links strict social distancing to much lower chance of infection: Researchers say that similar studies could be used to predict local trends in infectious outbreaks

My brother just called me and he just tested positive. I was with him last Friday but we were both wearing masks. He said he started to feel bad on Sunday.
