The hilarious part is that I just turned your typical tactics against you. The "take the L" thing is a favorite phrase for you when you have lost. Declare victory and put everybody else down. Amazing that you don't like it when you have it applied to you. I guess it is a bit mean to use when you have actually lost on a point, unlike when you use it against others when you have also lost the point. Sorry about that.

Scott Atlas, evil

Atlas encouraged Trump and others to believe that the pandemic was waning. “His voice is really very welcome combatting some of the nonsense that comes out of Fauci,” Stephen Moore, a White House economic adviser, reportedly said. (The White House denies that “the President, the White House, or anyone in the Administration has pursued or advocated for a strategy of achieving herd immunity.”)

Birx and Atlas had it out in the Oval Office, in front of Trump. Birx accused Atlas of costing American lives with his unfounded theories. Atlas cursed her. Birx, who spent twenty-eight years in the Army, gave it right back. Atlas said that young, asymptomatic people shouldn’t be tested, adding, “She just wants to lock them down and not let them live their lives.” They kept shouting at each other, but Trump was undisturbed and didn’t take either side. “It’s all reality TV to him,” one of Birx’s colleagues said.

After the confrontation, Birx demanded that Pence remove Atlas, but Pence declined. The task force began to dissolve after Atlas took a seat.

 

I am sorry that your delicate sensibilities were hurt when it was pointed out that you were making things up. Maybe you should go back to calling everybody sheep. That isn't elitist at all. Tissue?

Why the hell we paying money to people to get vaccinated? Vaccinate the elderly who are eager to get it. This is another stupid idea. Paying people with taxpayer money to get vaccinated is such a 2020 move it’s not even funny.

That is ridiculous. How about just not allowing the employees to work without the vaccination. Hospitals have been doing that for years with the flu vaccine.

 

Not quite apples to apples with the flu vaccine (yet). The COVID-19 vaccines are actually considered “emergency use” and likely will be for years before a final approval - so there is a legal question as to whether it can be “mandatory” from an employer right now, including even hospitals. So incentives might actually be the way to go.

I believe the FDA issued a further rule or some type of administrative clarification that an employer could require it, but not sure how that would hold up if someone or some entity (such as a nursing union) actually challenged it.

 

Good luck forcing people to get a vaccine for something 999 out of 1000 people already don’t die from. We don’t know if this vaccine works long term or if there are long term side affects from the vaccine since we rushed everything. How about we just vaccinate the elderly and pandemic is over. That’s the smart thing to do.

 

Hospitals generally require employees to get the flu vaccine, and the flu is about 1/10th as deadly. They do this primarily so workers don’t transfer illness to patients. It is not to save worker lives, it is to save patients from complications or deaths from hospital caused transmission (outbreaks).

Unless COVID is eradicated (which hardly seems likely now), it’s hard to see them not eventually all requiring this along with the flu for the exact same reasons. Like I said, the only reason hospitals aren’t already is that the vaccines are only considered “emergency use”. It’s a bit murky legally, but supposedly the FDA came out with a statement that employers could require it if they want. But that is hardly firm legal ground (esp with vaccines being in limited supply). With it being “emergency use”, this probably gets into some grayer areas OSHA law.
