That The study doesn’t prove his point, is right. But, his point is still right. He is not saying to not wear masks. He is saying that people who wear masks and then don’t socially distance are at higher risk and that people are being exposed wearing masks as a result of being in public more. He is right. All that travel Thanksgiving, Folks were wearing masks .

 

Nope. Worked at my moms nursing home. Total of 10 cases in 9 months and that includes workers as well as seniors. 350 plus people there. But her nursing home locked down March 8th. Only 1 person had symptoms. Pretty solid. Had over 2k tests over the last 9 months.

Your first sentence sounds like some attempt at a victory lap. Your inference, however, is misplaced. This study of a singular infection instance with one individual infecting two others in a restaurant in no way supports your claim. The compelling finding from the study you cited is lengthy distance of droplet transfer, due to the nature of ventilation flow.

In no way do results of the study suggest any subjects letting their guard down for your theoretical reason. There was no investigation of people's sense of risk for the virus. In fact, the infection occurred to a person whose community had not had a single infection in months.
And the research in no way indicates a false safety claim about the effectiveness of masks. The only claims about masks are about their importance. Did you even read the research journal article, or just the L.A. Times?

Again, the primary finding had to do with droplet transmission distance in a restaurant . . . where people are not wearing masks. This didn't align with your presumption one bit.

These numbers are on top of those numbers. If the baseline is 7500, the number for Dec 8th, 2019 would be expected to be about 7500. The number for Dec 8th, 2020, would be about 7500 plus the 2982 covid deaths from that day.

 

You don’t know that. You are making that up. You are guessing. Until there is excess death data can one hope to guess at what percentage is from Covid, “with” Covid, or from hundreds of other ailments that could cause one to die everyday.
