I remember that one, lived through it. Whole family was laid up in bed for a year, I was about 9 yrs old. one of the few time I remember being sick as a kid.

The bonus was in 09' I treated Hundreds of people with H1N1 and never got a sniffle.

 

There are, you need large numbers of subjects.
You need to observe then and test for immune response to the virus (blood tests).
Response needs to be followed to see how long it lasts.
Need data to look for Adverse Events.

Takes time to have enough volunteers.

Some don't get that most vaccines are inactive virus and can not actually give you the illness so they are reluctant to volunteer.

 

That will help with the homeless issue I guess.....

I wonder how many senior citizens (like myself) need to die to save Social Security and Medicare?

 

A doctor on TV this morning said we only have like 550 people in the whole US inpatient in the hospital for this right now with only about 70 in serious condition.

So you figure that more people have died from this in the last 3 days than are sitting in hospitals in critical condition?

You sure he wasn't talking about confirmed cases? I've seen doctor after doctor on Twitter talk about how bad things are right now. One consistent theme has been that their is a severe shortage of tests, so they are dealing with patients who almost certainly have the virus but can't test them for it.

 

I posted in this thread I believe, that a client of mine has a SIL that works at Homeland. She texted him 2-3 weeks ago telling him to buy 2 months worth of food and hoard cash. Prepare his businesses to be shutdown. That the situation was far more serious than being reported.

Yeah, I know at first you need to FIND a vaccine.

But I mean even then, whatever compounds/components go into the vaccine will need to be produced and there are limits. There's only so fast that can go, some of this stuff they literally have to GROW organically, i.e. the antibodies are made from dead or weakened virus usually. Can't really speed that up as it's limited by laws of nature/physics on top of "capacity".

Like I posted yesterday we have been contacted about interest in running no less than a dozen treatment and vaccine trials 2 days ago. It was about 50/50.
There are lots really smart people across the world working on it.
