Be that coy if you must. Auburn is a damn mess. That is a model we CAN follow.

Fans, just like voters in politics, vote. Uneducated bumpkins as well as discerning folk. And no one who wants the position dismisses the former...ever.

It made everyone giddy to have AR at QB, so maybe you're right.

    Agreed
Historicaly new hires were allowed 4-5 year grace periods.

    Then 3-4

    Now it's 2-3

With the dynamic seemingly shifting to 1.5 to 2.

    TN struck Gold with Huepel.

Instant nonstop offense, and he had the good fortune to find a portal QB to run it. Just what everyone wants.

That rose wilts quickly when passes are not completed and TDs are not made.

That kind of offense, when not getting first downs, will burn out a defense quick.

Hey, Billy knows what he got himself into.

The days of 5 year grace periods are over with impatient boosters and fans.

And limitless Fan Podcasts where everyone is smarter than the AD, Coach and Administrators.

Billy needs a great recruiting class, a good transfer portal and a better team next year.

He pulls thst off, hes fine, he dosent, well the exit sign is waiting.

    Just the way it is.

You've seen our 1's this year pretending to play Defense, right?

I think its still 3-4 here. Keep in mind that if Stricklin pulls the plug on his
football hire, he walks the plank with him. He's going to give him more
time just for his own preservation.

Hard to know what a new President thinks, but if it's Sasse, he knows how
bad his home state school has done in this department and will also be a
    voice of patience.

My personal opinion is that Napier is more than capable of building a really
good foundation for a consistently successful program. There are disagreements about what the definition of that is. I believe its 9-11 wins a season, with an
occasional trip to Atlanta. It also includes a much higher floor than we have seen over the last decade of so.

Until we open the checkbook and can buy some 5* players, we aren't competing for Natty's. Napier can't be judged on that until we have some evidence that the UAA
is serious about competing with Bama and UGA.

I think he wanted to go to Miami ?? What success have we shown recruits that we are a viable option . Florida program has been pedestrian at best for a long time . Can’t really dress this up ! We are a very average program. Wish it was different.
Tough being a Gator / Jag nowadays

Agree. AR's level of play should be clarifying as what they may look like..could happen sooner than many of us think.

I mean, these kids are like 17, 18 years old, so they probably started following college football maybe 7 or 8 years ago, which was during our putrid Muschamp/McElwain years. When we think of UF we get a twinkle in our eyes and think of the dominant powerhouse Spurrier/Meyer days, when these kids think of UF they're not as enamored.

I know time seems to go by faster as we age, but 2008 was a long time ago. It doesn't seem like it, but it is.

Good points but even I really don’t think of those days . I think of us as a very average program. Wish it was better but it’s not . we build these bad vibes : Not getting McClain , getting our arse beat by Georgia now with Cox dismissal. Are we gonna win 2 more games ?

Yeah it was 14 years ago, and while we all have fond memories of that era, it was a completely different time. A LOT has changed in the world, society and in college football.

The troops will rally and eek out 2 more games. A bowl game will be key because we need the extra practices and game experience. The biggest thing will be how Coach Napier closes out this recruiting class, ultimately these next 2-3 classes will be the basis to let us know if we'll be back at the top of college football or not.

    Though, time will tell.

I predict C McClain does NOT live up to the hype in Coral Gables, and we in Gainesville shall neither miss him, nor miss a beat as we move to an NCAA Title within the next 5 years under Billy Napier.
