Cormani McClain's decision

Ricks would be a nice get, but even without him we have a good back-end recruiting class on defense coming in. I want Ricks in a Gators' uniform, but I will not lose any sleep over getting him or not getting him.

I want all the big-uglies and big-nasties we can get...

 

At least those recruits can blame their immature behavior on their age, consider some of them aren’t even old enough to buy a carton of cigarettes yet. What can the grown 50 and 60-year old men throwing a hissyfit and having a conniption over where a teenager decides to go to college blame their behavior on?

 

Sounds like many people assumed he was coming to UF. You know what they say about making ASSumptions…

 

No doubt money. I am hearing an alleged $2.5M payment in some way shape or form via NIL. This isn't just a bunch of old guys guessing where he goes.

People pay for insider recruiting sites- if they are always wrong, they are done. Most of them are right, and by most I would guess 95% of the time they get it right.

 

This can’t be healthy behavior.

 

I’d rather have our class and Ricks would be nice. If not, we still have a great class.

 

I never like the disrespect. Class and humility goes a long way with the kids I like to support.

 

Dory I just respect having class more. Take the money, go where you want, but don’t disrespect the people that helped you along the way.

 

And vice versa. I don't think "trolling" is healthy behavior or that treating your recruitment like that is "healthy behavior." It is what it is. He's a turd, which is no surprise given the choice he made and the way he handled his recruitment. I root against turds all the time. What's the problem? That I'm open and up front about it? 90% of the people on here feel the same way. Why pretend you feel different?

And if he'd have done it to UM and chose UF, I'd probably feel similar (slightly less for obvious reasons). It's a douche play and makes him look like a douchebag. Perfect, enjoy your time in Doucheville USA. And I reiterate. I hope he never sees a dime of NFL money.

Personally I think all "recruitnicks" are weirdos. I mean, it's great that we have some folks to report on it, but there are certainly fans that seem to be more into the drama and intrigue of recruiting than actual football.

 

Even if 99% of the people on here felt the same about him, I'm my own person and can think for myself. The vitriol that some of you spew towards these kids (emphasis on that because that's what they are) isn't warranted and really doesn't sit well with my spirit. It gives off "You didn't make the choice that I wanted you to make, so screw you" bitter Betty vibes. I know Gator nation is better than this.

Did you make a single positive post when 4* IOL Roderick Kearney flipped to Florida to celebrate with us? If so, please show me because I can't recall you celebrating with us Gators at all.

 

Yeah that in itself weirds me out. I couldn't imagine being that emotionally invested in where a young man who hasn't even attended his senior prom decides to attend college. Truth be told, as I get older, I just like seeing young men taking advantage of their God-given talents and attending college, period, even if they're not attending my school.

 

Listen, if you want to defend unhinged behavior from grown adult men, then just say that. I pop into the recruiting forum from time to time for updates, and saw like 5 threads on McClain and decided to see what all the hubbub was about.

 

Most of us can respect a kids decision, just don’t shit on the people that support you on the way out the door. There are plenty of great kids from all schools. How you represent yourself is important for yourself.

Not a single word in celebration with us Gators yet you just happen to "pop in" and start lecturing THIS time. It can also be seen as antagonistic behavior but you're probably fully aware of that.

BTW, I didn't defend anything. Don't start deflecting or putting words in my mouth. I just asked the conditions of when you come to Swamp Gas and Awesome Recruiting . . . and you answered. Folks can engage with you or not.

I'm just giving my opinion on a topic like everyone else is. We've got folks in here practically wishing death on a teenager because he didn't pick us, but somehow I'm the one who is engaging in "antagonistic behavior" LOL. I already know what you're trying to do, so just get it over with.

 

What I'm trying to do is let people know who they would be interacting with so they can choose whether to interact at all.
