Finally set up by Roku TV. And streaming ain't for me, at least not on this TV. Too much trouble to find things with that little remote and all the clutter. And a big problem for me is closed captions. Because of a chronic ear condition I depend on captions, I usually have the volume muted. But I want to be able to turn the captions on and off during a program as I may desire. With cable that's done by simply pressing a button on the remote. But with this Roku TV you have to go to settings every time to want to change the captions. That's a deal breaker for me by itself. So I'm just going have this TV on emergency standby, unplugged, for if and when my 15-year-old 52" TV finally dies. I'm beginning to think it's immortal.

On an actual roku, I think you have the same remote, you just hit the star button on the remote and the cc option is right there.

I’ve heard the guides on ytttv and hulu suck. We have directtv stream and it has a very user friendly guide. My dad just got fubo and having an easy to use guide was at the top of his priority list. He’s liking it and about 6 months in with no plans to go back. He’s also started using a lot of the other apps for easy to access on demand content. A lot of stations have their own apps where you can watch whatever you want whenever you want.

I think I finally got the cc problem solved on youtube tv, and I have a guide set up there, so I'm going to go with that on the Roku tv.

This article, Cord-cutting terms defined, contains a decent list of cord-cutting terms that can be helpful fro people considering or just starting the process.

Has anyone heard of Streaming at its Best? My buddy says it's legit but it seems too good to be true.
