Leaving a lesser school to go to a much bigger stage is understandable . Money talk too but i cant stand the ones that make negative noise on social media or go to rivals.

Pearsal, Badger, and Dike all had previous production. Sturdivant fits that bill

Dike was looked at as a real question mark by people all over social media at the beginning of the season, but watching his games at Wisky it was obvious he was a player. I wouldn't mind us going after another seasoned receiver like that even if not a 4 or 5 star or likely drafted type. Dike wasn't a Pearsall, but he was very good.

Cook is a high ceiling and potentially low floor guy. He isn't plug and play.

We need plug and play if we need anything at all.

We have three highly ranked freshmen. It wouldn't surprise me for one to be good. We have plenty on the team for a couple to pop.

We're in really good shape but I have a feeling we get another experienced, productive guy.

You’re killing it at work and you love the environment, nice co-workers great boss, no reason to rock the apple cart. The competition decides you are an asset and offers you a 50% raise in salary, you let your boss know to gauge your value to him and he offers you 10% raise and more sick days. Are you turning down the money to stay? Of course not unless you are done trying to better yourself. These kids aren’t either and they would be stupid to do so. It’s really no more complicated than that.

If they are getting a 50% raise, they are being grossly underpaid or their employer is an idiot.

Some schools are mom and pop stores others are Fortune 500. College football is a game of the haves and the have nots now. It’s not about stupid.

Transferring up is completely different than transferring from bama to Georgia. Im not talking about leaving toledo for Michigan . The most talented folks in the world dont often stay at a mom and pop business as an employee. My brother did though as he would rather run a guys business that wants to retire than be insignificant at a large corporation.

I'm going to go on a limb and say that not getting Cook will work out OK for us. More often than not there's a good reason that 5* players who transfer out of a high-profile school don't end up adding a lot of value. Sometimes talent, sometimes attitude, sometimes work ethic. Give me the 3* from smaller schools who have proven themselves on one level and are looking to prove it at a higher level. We have a still have good group of WR without Cook.

Theres a reason hes not at Texas and it isnt money. While Texas has a deep receiver group, its not like they have four first rounders ahead of him . He cant get snaps for whatever reason and that will follow him to wherever he goes. If the kid is going to succeed , he better figure out what his issues are and change it. I try to get my boys to understand that. Its not tge world around you, its you.

Bama and Georgia do not value players and positions the same. If Georgia thinks Ettiene is worth 750k and Florida is only willing to go to 500k for example. Ettiene would be doing his family a disservice not taking the extra money. Cap management and allotment is going to be more important than coaching and recruiting soon. The teams that spend the smartest and most efficient while keeping there best talent at positions of need will win the day.

Heard he wanted to commit, but the staff had question marks. They were not “feeling” him. Also think there may be some better WRs entering, since season runs until Jan 20th, which is crazy to think.

Not nexessarily, they sign an NIL upfront that includes the bust risk. Someone walks in after a decent year of performance and offers a number that reflects the fact that the guy can ball. It’s not necessarily that the kid was underpaid, but rather he proved he’s good. What sucks is that you have to go re-evaluate EVERYONE all the time. I wonder if the school is committed to the kid for 4 years or if they can move underperforming assets along. Like, if some overhyped kid get a bag to sign at the school. Turns out he doesn’t have ‘it’ , can the school bail on the NIL or renegotiate at the end of the year the same way the kid can bail on his arrangements if it turns out he has a higher market value after a good year?

Lot of kids transfer after their position coach departs. Not just HCing changes impact kids. They spend more time with their position coach, the nutrition staff and S&C coaches than most other staff.

A very good player for one team might be a better fit and a better value for another team given their system and current roster. No reason to blast their previous team for not matching the offer. That was probably the case with Pyburn.
