Not only that, even a normal person had to cater to them to get the nomination, and then they aren’t much better than the crazies themselves.

No comparison. Nancy Pelosi told AOC and her squad to zip it. Kevin McCarthy has let MTG, Lauren Boebert and Matt Gaetz run the Republican Party.

No question MTG, Boebert and Gaetz are all crazy as hell, and they get a lot of press because of their outlandish comments, but they are not "running" the R Party.

McCarthy needed their votes or in the case of Gaetz his abstention to win the Speakership. If they threatened to make a motion to vacate the chair McCarthy could be in deep trouble. He knows that and will do anything to avoid alienating those three along with maybe five or six other nutcakes in the House. The clown caucus represents a serious impediment to McCarthy negotiating a reasonable compromise on the debt ceiling issue. Although it probably will not happen it's not beyond the realm of possibility that those clowns could drive the US into its first default in history or alternatively create a Constitutional crisis if Biden decides to invoke that provision of the 14th Amendment requiring the Government to pay its debts.

I’m pretty much Never Vote. I think I’ve voted three times in my life, once for Harry Browne.

Probably because the OP is gonna fall in line like a good little cult member and vote for that piece of shit again despite starting this thread.

I was going to delete this because it's clearly an insult. But I'm leaving it so I can say this: The OP started a thread saying he's completely done with Trump, that he'd vote for a Democrat for the first time in his life rather than vote for Trump. He later went on to say that Trump is a terrible person and was terrible at his job of being president.
So why insult him and call him a "good little cult member?" Seems to me that 'congratulations' would be in order rather than accusations and insults.

Because he refuses to kowtow to the Dear Leader. What's absolutely pathetic is the way that the Republican candidates running against Trump for the nomination as well as the overwhelming majority of Republican officeholders grovel before Trump. If the Republican Party of 1973-74 was like the Republican Party of today Nixon would have served out his full second term.

I'll admit I've changed my opinion on Trump. I mean yeah I never liked the guy personally or some of his stupid remarks but I voted for him because I truly believed Trump represented change. Trump also actually supported (in 2016) a lot of the things I believe in. Securing the border, tax cuts, support of American made goods and products, reinvestment into the U.S. instead of all the manufacturing going to China and other things.

I voted for Trump again in 2020 simply since he was Trump and it was no longer about the issues. Even though I did not think Trump handled Covid great (He gave Fauci way too much power IMO) I voted for Trump because I simply supported Trump.

I realize now Trump in 2024 is not what Trump was in 2016. I didn't vote for Trump in 2016 just because he was Trump, I like many of his ideas. Trump was just the figure head of those idea. Trump in 2024 is just all about Trump and he grievances. I've still yet to hear anything concrete about what he would do if he got back in. There's no platform anymore like there genuinely was for Trump in 2016.

Attack me all you want but that's why I voted for Trump in 2016 and Trump in 2020 but will not vote for Trump in 2024. I won't vote for Biden or the Democrats but if needed I'd probably vote third party.

I’m not sure if it’s an insult so much as it is what it is. You tell me a better description for what we are seeing than “cult” and I’ll be happy to use that word instead. He started this thread in the immediate aftermath of the midterms because Donald Trump kept them from WINNING. Notice this thread was not started on January 7th 2021 or any other time when Trump did something undeniably terrible. They only care about keeping power and the OP is just smart enough to realize DT is a liability when it comes to general elections. More than I can say for the rest of the cult members but their concern is not with him as a person or a leader, it only has to do with his inability to maintain their grasp on power.
