I think one issue is the extent to which the AG and special counsel can make independent decisions or whether they are being pressured or threatened by the President.

If Biden directed Garland to go after Trump, who in turn then directed Jack Smith to seek indictments of Trump, that would be a serious issue IMO. I didn't watch it but think Garland denied any pressure during his testimony. Of course, he could have been lying, but it's also hard to disprove a negative. In contrast, I feel like we know enough about Trump's interactions with Jeff Sessions, Rod Rosenstein, Matt Whitaker, and Bill Barr to know that Trump is willing to attack and bully his Attorneys General (not to mention the FBI). Of course, Trump could be bluffing if he's saying this stuff behind the scenes. It could also be a story Trump is happy to have leaked to intimidate other Republicans for that matter.

I don't think that's most of it, but fair enough that is an issue... and I don't see evidence of Biden himself threatening or pressuring Garland or Smith to do that, but the incentives are there nonetheless.

Good points but to me it's less threatening to have a President who says he's going after people tells his staff to go after people but nobody listens to him (Trump) than to have a President who claims he wants nothing to do with it, but his staff does it anyways (Biden).

One good example of weaponizing the DOJ is when Barr soft pedaled the results of the Mueller investigation to the media instead of just making the report public. He also funneled the investigation to various parts of the department to ensure no part would ever be prosecuted.

awesome. So the Country is going to be well informed of the plans. Trump should lose, no doubt…..but…..but if he wins despite the Project xxx thingy, can we agree that the people have spoken and Trump has a mandate to carry out the “Trump Revenge Tour 2024” ??

you seemed to have avoided this question in your response above.

Well, the good news is that Trump has not been using language from Hitler's Mein Kampf in his rhetoric.

Until now. Liberals are apparently "vermin" that bring in immigrants who are "poisoning the blood of our country". Adolf Trump may have gone a little too far.
