By virtually every metric Liz Cheney was considered one of the most conservative members of the House. Of course that was before the Republican Party became a cult centered on the worship of Trump rather than a political party based on a conservative philosophy, now any Republican politician who fails to the most important litmus test of the Party of the Donald regardless of where he or she stands philosophically, absolute loyalty to Trump is labeled a RINO. By the way, if it hasn't already been mentioned the lawsuit in Colorado was filed by six REPUBLICANS.

    Where'd he says it was?

...and what do you know about conservatism?

You appointed yourself the gatekeeper of conservatism.... but no one gives half a shit about your opinion.

(Despite having beaten your one note tune for years. Zero traction. Might be nigh about time to perhaps add a note or two... maybe dare I say, try another tume altogether?)

Waiting for proof trump planned, pushed, or asked anyone to attack the capitol building so they could overthrow the government. Just because democrats or the media wants to call it an insurrection , it doesn’t make it true.

I think there’s a big difference between saying there’s zero evidence and saying it hasn’t been proven.

State law meet federal law. Federal law…

oh wait? Hasn’t even been tried and convicted? Don’t worry. State law got federal law’s back.

The USSC will overturn this, it will play right into the narrative of the “deep state” being out to get him, he will raise money off of it, and in the end will accomplish nothing except to help Trump.
There should be a remarkably high bar for this type of decision, he hasn’t been convicted of a thing to this point, the voters should be the ones deciding if he’s fit or not. It’s not the job of the courts to protect society from itself.

If he gets convicted that’s a whole other story.

the ironic thing is that it will be the states rights “screw DC” crowd begging the USSC to decide what a state can and can’t do with their elections, and they will likely intervene. But that’s the upside down world we live in.

th good news is that if Roberts has his way, they can rule for Trump here and against him with Jack Smith and appear relatively neutral. This might actually help Smith in the much more important case.

Exactly. This does nothing for Biden. He was going to win Colorado already. It just feeds the narrative. And the narrative isn’t untrue. They’re deploying these tactics because they don’t trust we the people with democracy.

It's not just the Jan 6 insurrection which Trump had a hand in organizing, it's also the illegal fake elector plot attempt to overthrow the election. A true autogolpe attempt that was and is Unconstitutional. There is plenty of evidence Trump was a willing participant. I just don't understand how anyone can close their eyes and ignore the obvious?

He still gets due process. You can’t convict him with your keyboard. In fact, these are leftist Democrats attempting to hijack the justice system.

LOL. Trump begged the mob he called there to not attack the Capitol? Nice spin completely made up horseshit.

More like Trumps own people spent hours begging him to call off the mob.

Going through the courts *is* due process.

It’s never been clear the constitution requires a criminal conviction. Given this was one of the post civil war amendments, the language was aimed squarely at former confederate traitors who led a rebellion against the United States, it’s unlikely they all had trials (actually we know from history they didn’t as they were given amnesty, including top leadership)! Seems the language of this amendment itself was designed more as a catcheall for confederate leaders in lieu of hanging them all for treason.

So, the Colorado Supreme Court has “decided” Trump engaged in insurrection.
what a Pandora’s box they have opened! What’s next, you root for the wrong sports team and therefore are causing a public disturbance/insurrection and therefore are not allowed to run for office? It makes about as much sense.

Sorry, Colorado, there are four villages currently searching for their idiots. And, if you don’t think this ruling is a threat to democracy, you’re not paying attention.

Key difference: Rooting for the wrong sports team wouldn’t be directed at the U.S. Capitol or
attempting to overthrow an U.S. election. So this “anything can be deemed an insurrection!” argument doesn’t have much merit.

Part of the issue here is Trumps disdain for the very document he swore an oath to uphold and protect.

The media salutes you. I have to say. You fit right in with how propaganda works. Using the main line the media did to create a false narrative. Go read and listen to the speech. Your used of trumps line discussion “fight like hell” is being used completely out of context. Sadly par for the course.

GQP logic here also covers every mob boss who had flunkies commit crimes because the head man "only" ordered it to happen and didn't do it himself.

Again, I’m not arguing that the result has merit. I’m just commenting on your insinuation regarding the motivation for the result.

If by “the wrong sports team” you mean those who want to overturn our democracy … then, yes.
