By your logic, should it not be played in extreme heat or in rain either? The sport was made for bad weather.
Green Bay, Chicago, Buffalo, Cleveland, Cincinnati, KC, New England, NY, Phlly, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Denver... just to name a few diasgree with that southern pansy statement. It's not even cold yet, like actually cold is teens or lower with a wind chill.
Thats why they dont hist superbowls is nobody want the outcome determined by weather. 30 is fine but sometimes it's ridiculous
The new college playoff system is what it is but once the season is over, they need to get rid of the conferences behind each team and look more into the level of competition, score differential, location, etc., when they’re trying to find the best teams. Alabama & Ole Miss would’ve been better competition for Notre Dame, Penn State and Texas. Heck, The Gators would’ve been better competition than those teams as well. SMU, Indiana, Arizona State, Boise State and even Notre Dame have played such weak schedules. They would likely all have 3 or more losses in the SEC. With enough blowouts this year, maybe they reevaluate.
I've been griping about this exact thing in the other game threads. It's what Sankey sold out to allow. Weak conferences required inclusion since they know they will never achieve it on their own merits. I don't see it changing unless, as usual, it affects TV ratings and selling commercials.
I don't mind including the conference champs, but we should just do away with locking them into the top 4 seeds.
Sankey is a major disappointment. And he has a grudge against the Gators' football program. He's changing everything from the difficulty of our schedule to the month of year we play our rivals.
This is the way to go, imho, said it from the start. Exactly how the FCS has done it for years. Quarter final and semi final games on campus would rock. Stop feeding the dinosaur bowl games, they stood in the way of a real playoff for far too long.
