There is a fairly good chance that all 4 teams that got a first round bye will lose in round two this week.

I live in Georgia. Having to listen to the barking and Go Dawgs makes my blood boil. If you guys lived up here you would probably feel as I do.

Penn State was the better team and has the best chance to beat the Notre Dame/Georgia winner. But Boise State deserved to be in this game and their own mistakes cost them a chance to win. 2 missed field goals, a TD called back, 11 penalties and 2 costly turnovers. Penn State focused on stopping the AA RB and did a great job of forcing Boise out of their game plan. If Penn State has stayed more with their running game they probanly would have been more dominant. But Boise it legit and could have won the game if they had played a cleaner game. But congrats to Penn State and I'll be pulling for them to reach the title game.

We got the four best teams in the semifinals and they're #5 thru #8. The committee has some work to do, but it would probably be better to ditch the committee and bring back the computers.

This year is why the playoff committee should re-rank the teams after they play their last championship games. No automatic bye weeks for lower ranked champions.

Respectfully disagree on a few points here:

    1) Oregon was a top 4 team but got screwed with their quarterfinal draw. Don't forget they beat Penn St on a "neutral" field a few weeks back. "Neutral" is in quotes because Indy is in PSU's backyard relative to Oregon.
    2) What exactly does the committee need to work on? Its not the committee's fault they ranked the top 4 the way they did, the playoff rules dictated it. I'm not against bringing back computers, but it doesn't solve anything about the top 4.
    3) The team whose seed looks way off right now is The OSU. But what exactly was the committee supposed to do with them when they lost their finale to Michigan at home? It's easy in hindsight to say they have the best roster and should have been seeded higher, but they didn't look like that in November.

No poll is perfect, human or computers, so I don't think there's one right solution out there. I tend to think sportsbook power polls are the most reliable, bias tends to go away when it costs you money. But they undervalue actual game results which isn't what we should use for playoff considerations IMO. So for now, the committee as they currently do things is probably as good as any other imperfect approach.
