Man, this sucks for CC and the team.

Silver lining is that the other players will have to come together and play without him.

Thats' very true. This is the time where KR and Kugel need to grow up. We aren't going to have a guy like CC next year so this is a good opportunity for this team to forge a new identity.

Sucks for CC but he will get drafted and I'm guessing end up playing in Europe.

It didn’t look like a hard hit but his two arms tangled with the guy from ole miss, but he must of hit bone to bone to break one. I thought as soon as he was holding it, oh no. We are snake-bit when it comes to injuries. Of course his right hand that he shoots with. So sorry for CC and hope he gets to play in the NBA!

I feel so bad for CC. He came back and gave it his all every single game. He was leading in blocks and both our offense and defense was ran though him. He will always be one of my favorite players who ever put on a Gator jersey! This is just heart wrenching news for him, the team, and the fans who loved rooting him on every single time he was on the court.

Thank You for everything Colin! Remember, You are Gator made and will always be a Gator! God Bless!

It was bizarre, the contact didn’t look like anything that would ever break a bone even on replay. But I guess it somehow hit just the right spot or the angle didn’t show something.

A shame White/Golden didn’t put a better team around him. In BD’s years, the few times we were mediocre or NIT bound it was usually the 5 and lack of inside presence was the missing piece. For a few years now, seems like we are always short at PG or lacking shooters. Guess I took good guard play for granted, BD could certainly coach them up.

edit: should add our overall front court depth isn’t great. We appear to be screwed, or at least are going to see long stretches of (very) small ball. Jitiboh is competent in his minutes for what he is, but he was gassed last night! Hard to see him going 30+ Minutes.

I watched numerous times and the prior play - I could not see where the injury occured? Feel bad for CC, what a year he was having!

For us to lose such an integral player - seems odd that there was no drop off last night after he left the game.

I mean - we won by 15 points.

    And were behind earlier.

We're deep this year......had 5 players in double digits last night.....while CC had only 3.

    Let's see what happens.......

I agree with JJ, I guess Fudge, Felder and Alex S. They will get to try to stave off Arkansas and Kentucky. Our schedule is killing us and CTG getting off the ground, unbelievable!

He is our only stout inside defender...JJ is ok but doesn't move well and picks up fouls easily. Teams are going to eat us alive inside and on the boards. Also, this makes it so much easier to guard our already limited offense since they won't have to double CC. We probably won't win another game.

Plus, for much of this year, JJ picks up follows at an alarming rate. Could be a big issue going forward.

Not sure about losing out, but we're def gonna get destroyed on the glass even more than before. Gonna have 195lb Fudge defending 5s unless we decide to burn Szymckzykzkyzmkhyzk's red shirt.

I see no option but to burn the redshirt. At this stage of the season, he should no longer really be considered a freshmen. Time to see what he can do. If he can’t even give 15 minutes to relieve Jitoboh, perhaps it’s best to find that out as well!

Five SEC games and the SEC Tournament left. Not sure I'd burn a redshirt year for a couple of games (Kentucky, Arkansas) that have bigs we'd have trouble manning-up with Fudge part of the time. JJ would be more effective in a zone for now too, I think.

In addition to zones, they can go small when JJ needs a break and pressure and run. They are certainly athletic enough for both. Just not sure how much they've practiced that this year although I do remember a couple of higher pressure games and that seemed to jump-start the offense. Just can't remember who they were against now that I'm older. LOL! :)

I can't remember if he there was another incident like a fall, striking the rim, a foul or a hard block could have been the start of an injury that set the stage for the break. Something else must have happened.

I watched the replay and really couldn't see anything happen to cause the injury.

I was at the game so I saw no replay.

But Noah got a tooth knocked out against South Carolina and there was no foul called.
