I'm curious about any turnover in underclassmen, etc, because for a MWAC team, they were pretty damn good this year. He's not exactly taking over a program in shambles (by MWAC standards).

Mullen can reunite with Geoff Collins who was with Mack Brown at UNC this past year.

 

If I recall correctly, Collins defense, wasn’t it the Psycho Defens??e, was pretty good. It wasn’t till 3rd and Grantham showed up that the Mullen show started its final acts.

Obviously UNLV getting into the playoff is tough regardless of the coach, so I can hedge my wager as I doubt he gets fired in 4 years.

In all seriousness, there are a heck of a lot of variables to put up $500 on a team making the playoffs in 3 years.

I think there’s less of a chance of Mullen getting canned in 4 years at UNLV than them making the playoffs given all the extrinsic variables but I still think they have a good chance given his ability to coach and O (and the fact that TG won’t be his DC)

 

I think out there the recruiting is so even he can get the guys he needs and coach them up.

 

Except he had 70 Points put in his UNC defense by James Madison …

We just watched his only pick for offensive tackle his last year( the one who told him emphatically he didn’t want to play tackle, preferring tight end) catch a 17 yard pass and show some athleticism in our bowl game.
Could have been worse. Rumor had it all our kickers were considering transferring when they got the memo..
