It was clever in the sense he continued to repeat what fans were calling for last year. The firing of Mike White, not TG.

This is a poor shooting team. Can’t blame that on TG. Need to give him time to recruit athletes that can play in his system. Not sure anyone of this team would be drafted in a NBA draft. Maybe CC late in the second round??? Looks more like overseas players at next level

Curious if Fudge will move back into the starting lineup against Tennessee.

More and more impressed with Kugel as the season goes along. The kid will be our best player next year.

Based on recent play, Kugel may have already passed Fudge. Alex was showing steady improvement and then seemed to plateau. Riley keeps getting better. What I hope is that both will start to realize their potential as we get into February.

One major issue we have is that our half court offensive sets we almost always have all 5 players outside of the paint...we have no low post setup at all. I guess we are relying on cutting and diving into the lane so we don't want anyone in there to clog it up but what seems to be happening is that we just end up taking a bunch of 3's because we struggle to work the ball inside closer to the basket. It seems our offensive system is not conducive to the talent on the team so maybe Coach needs to try a new system instead of forcing them to play like this. I think this team is better suited towards a fast-paced hectic game as we are better in transition. We have an athletic big that can run along with wings like Fudge, Kugel, and Kowacie that can get up and down...not sure if Lofton likes to push the pace though. We don't have a great shooting team and only one big that can threaten down low. Of course, it is probably too late in the season to change your system now.

Anyone know how they make the matchups for this Big 12 SEC challenge? We should have played someone like Oklahoma St. or someone closer to our W/L record.

K State should have been against tennessee or bama. Unless they aren't looking for good games.

Kidding, yes. I've had some concerns with the play of the kids, which usually stops at they need to move their feet more and practice foul shots and shooting more. I don't want to insult the players and I apologize if I ever go overboard. We have what we have.

I also don't want to over react to coaching and the professionals orbiting around them. I've had some head scratching moments with both CMW and CTG but both obviously know hoops and I'm not the one herding cats. There has to be a reason basketball coaches are always yelling or staring down players on the sideline. Plus, stuff just happens, which is why I enjoy the game. Goodness knows we don't need to run off another good man and belly up to the coaching craps game again.

Sorry for the rambling post. Go Gators.

Y'all make it sound like these guys are doing this every time. If CC is dribbling in open court, no reason for him not to do so. Many of Reeves' shots are open and we do know that he's streaky. Nobody called for us to stop shooting against S Carolina. One thing that Fudge does need to work on is to stop charging, is seems like he's good for several every game

Yeah, Fudge sees a momentary opening and goes for it without paying attention to the help defense that's coming.
Really, after a shaky start to the season, our defense is solid every game now. And our offense is generating plenty of open looks and opportunities. If we can eliminate the awful starts we'd be a good team.

We've observed 2 of the worst first halves in gator history. 3 made none 3pt baskets made in the first half. 1 dunk and 1 tip in, a mid range jumper! and then i think a layup that the shooter was fouled on for technically a 4th basket.

    Team Summary
    First Half
    FG 3PT FT
    6-29 3-12 1-4
    20.69 % 25.00 % 25.00 %
    Second Half
    FG 3PT FT
    12-29 1-10 9-12
    41.38 % 10.00 % 75.00 %

I think it is based on last season's results and K State was 9th in the Big 12. Florida was 8th in the SEC.

Given that why was T A&M not in the mix and Mizzou and Mississippi were? They were awful last season.

Nope. So i guess they got in because they didn't last season.

I think CMW made every player on the team understand what a bad shot was and it as an E-ticket to th bench if you jacked them up. It was one of the things KR was happy to see go away when CTG took over was the fear of bring benched - at least that's what he said in so many words.

I think there is NBA talent on the team. Golden just has to learn how to maximize the talent. This team needs to run. They have 9-10 players that can be put in and out of the game. It should be up tempo for 40.

And S. Car. and UGAG weren't in it this year. They played each other. Doesn't seem to make a lot of sense. Maybe since we have more teams than they do.
