From the post-game radio interview (mostly word-for-word but technically paraphrasing): Coach, you look at this game today, obviously I think this was one of the better offensive performances that you've had. They got some talented players on the other side of that court. So let's offensively and what you got today. KK tied a career high with 30 points. You hit some shots and that was a good sign from this group. Yeah. Most definitely. [Laughing] We studied our second quarters . . . and it's insane honestly; but I will say we talked as a team and we play like we did today, and like we played against USCe with the confidence and connection and togetherness and the toughness about us . . . and this team will win a lot of games. That's what we've been working for. Just to get our confidence back. So these two games were really, really good for us despite the outcome not being what we wanted. * * * In the first 4+ minutes of Q3 LSU doesn't score but maybe if you got a little more offense in that stretch maybe we're talking about a different game. The way that 3rd Quarter started they just couldn't get anything going offensively. We knew they were helping off our 4. They had to help two people on the inside on Shay and we got the shots we wanted. Like I told Jordan and Micah and we were able to put shooters in those positions and our team felt really confident and good about the shots we were taking . We just needed a couple of them to go down. * * * You assume the game plan against USCe or LSU is you've got to give something up to get something. Maybe you're gonna' let them take a couple extra 3s. You hope they don't hit 11. They shoot 36% for the season but they hit 55% today. Corson (?) goes out of her mind and hits 7 3s. You gotta' give something up, right? Yeah, and that was the game plan. As silly as that sounds, I was really pleased with our teams' commitment to sticking with . . . you know we wanted to make an adjustment on her after about the third one but sometimes it's like that, you get an out-of-body experience. She got hot quick . . . Yeah. Exactly. But I was pleased with our team's effort and overall performance. * * * Building on this, two games left, you've got Alabama and then Missouri coming up. What do you want to make sure you see out of your group come Thursday? How do you build on the offensive performance, the positives you had here today? Yeah. We're not into moral victories. I asked our team to work on our connection on the court, how we move together and just get back to Florida basketball, which is a team game. That's what they're doing and I'm really pleased with our effort this week and the challenge will be to make sure that continues. * * * Good for Paige too. Got her first career bucket against #5 LSU. That was a cool moment for this team . . . Yeah, it was. It's really important that we celebrate each other. We celebrate each other's successes and those kinds of things and so that was good for us as well.
