One of most UF-UT games I've been there for in my time here since 1994. This one I was in a skybox with a load of Vols, along with my wife and 12 year old son. Finishing the thought: Eric Ainge threw to Reggie F4@King Nelson for the first pass of the game and the last. Vols had beaten USAF the week prior and were quite full of themselves, as is their wont. When Reggie caught that ball I jumped up in the box and yelled ":THIS AIN'T AIR FORCE!" My wife pulled me gently back into my seat. "Don't get us thrown out of here."
I didn't miss a Tennessee at uf game from 91 until 2003. Glad I missed that one although 2001 was painful. Had that game in our hands. Just couldn't stop Henry and Spurrier chased points off of failed two point conversions
A GREAT 10:00 watch for everyone! Thanks! Note To All: It won't embed because of NFL BS but you go to the video on YouTube.
Billy Donavan is the GOAT! It took a very special coach to win a Basketball championship at Florida and he did it back to back.
Goes back to the brotherhood Billy D mentioned. What are your teammates gonna tell their grandchildren about you, the guy they played with? That’s your legacy! And as fans we don’t see it like the players see it, there’s probably countless stories from behind the scenes. Reminds me of the Brandon Siler/ Brandon Spikes handoff that we never heard about until Swamp Kings aired. And honestly, I think Billy gets that, he did mention that Billy hit on all the points his staff has been preaching to the players. That said, I think we see vast improvement this year and no reason we won’t continue to see improvement going forward into future years. It’s just a matter of time boys, we coming! GO GATORS!
SOS days have aged better, too. Four straight SEC championships, a national title, and a Heisman winner coaching another Heisman winner. '93-'96 was something else, wasn't it?
A dream. A lot of fans harp on the bad stuff but we've had so many good Gators and successes. I have faith in the current team.
Came across this when I was looking for more footage from this speech. It’s a podcast Billy did with Mike Miller and UD. Great video if you haven’t seen it!
If Billy can get this team to love each other like Donovan preached, we could really have something special brewing in Gainesville. Something to be proud of Go Gators
Napier said today that all 130 something players got together to support Lyons when he went down over the weekend…something he’s never seen before in all his years of coaching. I think we have something special brewing.
I also thought back to this video the day after the game. Think of all the thoughtful, sincere work and effort being spent on this team this offseason, and to just seemingly go to waste last Saturday. Hopefully, they rebound but it's not looking good.
