Anya had a scary fall on the vault. I bet she feels it this morning.

I've seen far worse. Anya's feet were off to the right, so she simply dropped down to the floor landing on her feet and then got up to repeat what she missed and finished her routine. If you looked away for a second, you'd have missed the misstep off the beam. It happened about as fast as I've ever seen on a fall from the beam.

Yes, the 197.700 received at Nebraska will be our next score to drop. It would be nice to score higher than 198.225 at SECs so we can count that away score. It won't be easy to do as we go to 4 judges dropping the high and low in the SECs, think the same with regionals before going to 6 judges for nationals.

Where UF 2024 stands compared to UF 2023 NQS headed into the SECs:

    2024 - 197.905
    2023 - 198.015

After the 2023 SECs, UF started NCAAs at 198.110.

It's interesting that the Floridagators.com website and the "official" schedule results shows us scoring 197.700 last night. But when you actually go to the Box Score it shows 197.900. Seems like they would have fixed it by now, as 197.900 is the correct score, I'm pretty sure.

LOL at PAC 12 Coaches & Judges - CGN Week 11 Results:

Week 11 Results - College Gym News

I've been hoping Utah and not Kentucky would come to the Gainesville Regional to get some real national spice in the meet. Apparently, the PAC 12 judges will do everything possible to see that it happens. I don't have to worry about Utah not coming unless they shoot themselves in the foot.

Bama at OU on ESPN2 and ESPN+ right now, tight after rotation one. OU looked mortal on vault.

I WILL ONLY SAY THE BIG 12 Coaches & Judges ARE AS BAD AS THE PAC 12:

LSU is top seed in the SEC Tournament due to its NQS:

LSU gymnastics earns top seed at SEC Championships next weekend (msn.com)

It won't matter if LSU's Mr. Hyde beam team shows up on Saturday night.

To win the SEC Tournament Championship, the Gators will likely have to put up a season high score. If the tiggers hit on beam and stick a few landings on vault and bars, their score will be well north of 198. The Gators have to come in focused on fighting for every .1 of a point.

The Gators rotations as the 2 seed will be bars, vault, floor, and beam.

College Gym News - The Dismount Week 11:

The Dismount: Week 11 - College Gym News

Preach it CGN! Something has to be done about the judging to protect the integrity of college gymnastics as a team sport. The inept and biased judging has been over the top all season long. I'm finding it hard to believe the judging will get any better by going to 4 and 6 inept and biased judges in the NCAAs.

Bart Connor spoke up during the bama at OU meet on Sunday:

Is it postseason yet? Week 11 was the perfect storm of teams starting to peak for the postseason, senior night bonuses, and scoring that is rapidly losing any remaining credibility. To paraphrase Bart Conner, “The quality of gymnastics has superseded the quality of the judging.”

Aly Raisman doing color for the meet finally spoke up after the last event of the meet for OU. Jordan Bowers scored a 10.0 on her floor routine which would have been a 9.90 everywhere except Norman, Oklahoma as she over rotated causing a slid backwards on her last landing. Aly responded with "They gave her a 10.0 for that." She had been singing OU praises all meet up until then when her honest assessment slipped out.

A huge thanks to Dr. Sam for reposting these videos on her site. I don't know how I earlier missed them.

It looks as if Payton Richards will definitely be back for the NCAAs if not the SECs:

The icing on the cake is the possibility of getting Riley McCusker back for NCAAs at least on bars where UF needs all the help it can get, but probably still out of reach for 2024.
