Utah grad transfer Jillian Hoffman lands at LSU. She joins UF grad transfer Savannah Schoenherr as the two portal transfers LSU is bringing in to fill their gaps. LSU has a large stable of gymnasts. I don't see how they will find performance time that will keep everyone happy.

Staying as a student coach while pursuing another master's degree:

We Need To Talk on Twitter: "Trinity Thomas ( @Gym_Trin ) has a big announcement for all @GatorsGym fans https://t.co/SLNdqdTXws" / Twitter

Hmmm, no talk of Paris 24 at this time.

Trinity will do great as a coach or anything in business she pursues. Since she is going to be a student coach with UF, I'm thinking Trinity will be running her own program in the not-too-distant future.

I think it’s awesome how much she seems to truly love UF. It’s a tremendous advertisement for our gym program and the larger university.

Inside Gymnastics Exclusive! Trinity Thomas Announces Elite Comeback, Eyes Paris 2024

    One More Dream

Trinity Thomas has made it official. And Paris 2024 is the goal.

The 2022 NCAA All-Around Champion, 34-time NCAA All-American, and NCAA Career 10.0 co-leader (28) for the University of Florida announced her Elite comeback exclusively with Inside Gymnastics this week.

“There is one more dream that I’ve always had,” Thomas said while seated center floor at the Gators’ training facility inside the Stephen C. O’Connell Center. “And it’s been cut short a couple of times. I’m glad that I get the opportunity to come back to Elite gymnastics with my eyes set on Paris 2024.

Leanne Wong confirms she will be competing for Florida in the upcoming season. This from a Dr. Sam retweet:

2020 olympian on Twitter: "Confirmation from Leanne that she plans to compete in ncaa next season https://t.co/WcsH1vnlEM" / Twitter

Felt like this was the case, but it is nice to receive confirmation. College Gym News has Leanne on the 2023/24 roster.

Payton Richards has not said one way or the other what her intentions are insofar as returning is concerned and Florida Gymnastics has not said anything either. Payton is Covid eligible for a 5th year if she wants to do so. College Gym News does not have Payton on the 2023/24 roster.

Amazing! LSU's stable of gymnasts available for the 2024 season:

    2024
    Elena Arenas
    Sierra Ballard
    Chase Brock
    Haleigh Bryant
    Olivia Dunne
    Cammy Hall*
    Jillian Hoffman**
    Kiya Johnson*
    Kai Rivers*
    Savannah Schoenherr***
    Alyona Shchennikova*
    Aleah Finnegan
    Alexis Jeffrey
    KJ Johnson
    Tori Tatum
    Annie Beard
    Ashley Cowan
    Bryce Wilson
    Kylie Coen
    Amari Drayton
    Leah Miller
    Zoe Miller
    Brooke Simpson

That's 23 gymnasts at LSU. By comparison, UF has 16 gymnasts which includes a junior who has yet to see the competition floor. It's really 15 gymnasts which includes the 6 true incoming freshmen. I have to question just what was going on in Savannah Schoenherr's mind when she decided to transfer into this mess at LSU for her final season. After sitting out for 2 years come the 2024 season, it's possible Savannah will get lost in the shuffle of a deep roster lineup.

Konnor McClain has decided not to defer until after the Paris 24 Olympics:

Gymnastics champ Konnor McClain to juggle LSU, Olympics training - ESPN

She will train for the Olympics while performing for LSU in the 24 NCAA season. This is following the lead of Jade Carey and Leanne Wong. It's not too late for Kayla DiCello to change her mind. There will be a lot of top gymnasts trying out for the US Olympic Team. Some top gymnasts will be staying home and watching with the rest of us.

Over on Tiger Droppings Gymnastics, they are already talking about winning the 24 national championship. LSU is loaded so they just might be right.
