Protests are what makes our country great. Nothing wrong with that.

With regards to glue, that is a good question. Apparently, the glue of choice is super glue. Super glue is not petroleum based. It is made with cyanoacrylate, which is a type of acrylic resin. But, even super glue manufacturing requires some type of petroleum to run the machinery. So, it’s sort of a funny self-own in some ways.

I dont know anything about the glue they used, but it was already made, the environmental impact has already happened man, and I dont think it affects demand for glue one way or the other lol. Seems you are focusing on the wrong thing, as usual. We are beyond the stage where individual consumption has effect on the environment, and the action these protestors want is on a collective & global scale.

Reality is the guys impact is basically zero with the glue. As is yours and my impact as we churn our AC in the summer and heater in the winter.

I am all for being good stewards of this amazing creation. And that can be done using fossil fuels. That really is the point. At least for me.

Whatever you do individually has no impact on anything when the problem is global capitalism, you alone cant burn enough or conserve enough to impact anything. These people know that more than anyone, focusing on the glue is just a red herring.

I'm surprised that Trump didn't think about glue as a treatment for Covid. "It could help hold your immune system together."

Was he glued to the court? If not, should have just left him there. Personally I think these idiots should be left in place until they have to rip their own flesh off to get undone. That would be commitment to their cause.

No. You are not following. The protestors are making an absurd argument. And in doing so likely using what they are protesting against in the process (most glues are petroleum based). Which is absurd (though slocala could be correct that the glue he used was not petroleum based)…

What's the big deal? When he was taken away the protester simply became unglued.

I'm quite confident that these climate protestors do more to harm their cause than promote it. If people this stupid think that climate change is a problem then it probably isn't.

I don't think they move the needle in any direction, and honestly the actions that would be effective and necessary to force action would be far more disruptive and destructive than delaying a sporting event for 15 minutes or so.

Who needs protesters about climate change when you've got Category 5 hurricanes?

Good to know. My coal mine, backyard oil well and F350 are already made too.;)
*I actually own none of those things. This post was a hyperbolic attempt at humor. The environment was not harmed in the making of this post.
