Clemson at Miami, Sat. at 8pm on ACCN

As I said I like Clemson. 2 of my kids went there. I like Dabo.
So to answer this- I think he's a good coach who made some mistakes.
Frankly he's got a thin skin and maybe his success went to his head. (He's human.)

But also- as we Gators know sometimes success breeds unrealistic expectations.
When those expectations aren't met, the recriminations follow.
Dabo's thin skin doesn't help.
Remember when Spurrier left he talked about everyone being unhappy even when we won 10 games.
Same thing going on at Clemson...

 

So when we sign any player from the Carolinas are we stealing from Clemson, USCe or UNC??
Chris Leak, Brandon Spikes and Carlos Dunlap were from the Carolinas.
Should we not have recruited them and "stole" them from one of the Carolina schools?

Or perhaps your notion of "stealing" is misguided.
These players were never ours, we never OWNED them, therefore, they weren't stolen.
Edit- I know I can take things too literally.

 

The lack of recruiting FL was a massive change in the CFB landscape by our former regimes. It's really sickening how many kids left this state the past decade+. I personally don't hate Dabo, just giving an example of why he's not popular.

 

This is true and congrats on your kids going to Clemson. I'm not intimating that his time is done like others here might suggest, not that you said that. I also think he's been good for the college football game in general, beating Miami and FSU on the regular is fun to see.

He will bounce back, but it is nice to see other coaches in college, that seem to garner hero status in coaching, get brought back down to Earth every now and then... just like Saban has this year.

It's more realistic to think that any team can beat another team instead of having the same old coaches on top becasue they seem to never lose games.

I am so sick and tired of seeing OSU, UGA, Bama and Clemson at the top of college football rankings year in and year out. It's nice to see that they are mortal and that their days of dominance is slowly coming to parity with several other college football programs. I think it's time Billy Napier and the University of Florida Gators clime back into the realm of top contenders.

For too long these same four schools have been on top... and it's past time for a change. So forgive me if I sound a bit harsh when describing how I feel about Clemson and Dabo...

Time for a different set of teams to ascend to the top of college football's mountain top... as long as it's not Miami and FSU.

Who can you possibly get that will even come close to what Dabo has done? If you fire Dabo then he will get 60 million from his buyout and there is no way Clemson is paying him that kind of money.

 

Dabo isn't getting fired. Fans just doing their thing.
Usc fans not happy tho Riley is 17-5 in 2 years.
Early in the season Buckeye fans wanted a new coach and they're undefeated
Hog fans want a new coach tho they loved Pittman 2 yrs ago
Some Auburn fans want to fire Freeze in year 1.
SC fans loved Beamer last year, now not so much.
And so it goes.
