Lol... you'd be surprised what a talented football team can hide about their head ball coach... Dabo's a knuckle head.

But if it works he is a riverboat gambling rockstar. Coaches can't win.

Totally disagree. Zook is a solid coach and had a boatload of talent. He won nothing. Talent wont hide a bad head coach for a decade.

Half of his "genius" left for Oklahoma... and Dabo is starting to show his own "genius" all by himself. LMFAO!

Remember before Dabo and Clemson got Brent Venables Dabo's Clemson team was busy getting "Clemsoned" by tons of points...

Clemson and Dabo were barely good enough to fool the ACC teams, and beat a few of them, before Brent Venables left Bob Stoops and Oklahoma for Clemson.

I just find him disingenuous. A few years ago he said if players started getting paid and things turned professional he'd quit coaching. To be fair he wasn't totally against players getting paid but wanted things tied to academics (i.e. you get a stipend if you graduate and stuff like that). But I find it very hard to hear that from a dude that had just signed a 9-year $70+ million contract based off the success of said players.

I also know coaches in the NFL who say Clemson players come into the league poorly coached, but that's probably more of an indictment of a couple position coaches than Dabo himself.

He's stolen quite a bit of kids out from under us for a handful of years straight. I believe starting with Spiller, even though he wasn't the HC at the time. I agree him beating fsWHO & the gumps is nice.... but that could/SHOULD of been us if you think about it.

Dude is a cornball. Then there’s this cringeworthy nugget

If his program is “built in God’s image” and he keeps losing games, I guess God must hate Clemson.

Hopefully the recruitniks are right about TJ Moore still listening to CBN. He'd be crazy to go to that mess going on now.

Yeah that 10 wins and Orange Bowl berth the year before Venables got there really sucked. Clemson was on a nice upward swing already. He hired BV like SOS hired Stoops. That makes him smart.

Most of us here probably make a nice living but think kids landing a lot of money at a young age could be unhealthy. My guess is net worth doesnt really change ones ability to see that clearly.

who cares what he meant when he said it, he sounded like his typical douchebag self. I know you have a soft spot for guys like Dabo since they loudly thump the Bible but other people simply aren’t as enamored with him.

Rick, you are simply wrong. Dabo played in the ACC Championship game 2 of his first 3 full seasons as head coach and won the ACC the season before BV showed up.
He also finished with more wins and a higher rank last season than he did the last year that BV was there.

He went 8-0 in the ACC last season without BV.

This Dabo narrative is simply silly.

If you are gonna bang on a HBC because of their record after their DC goes to Oklahoma, you might not wanna look at Florida's record the first two years after SOS lost Stoopsy to Oklahoma.

Here's a hint. Its about the QB.
When we had Kyle, Leak, Danny, and Tim, we were elite national contenders.

When Dabo had DeShawn and Lawrence they were elite.

When Urban had Smith, Tebow etc he was elite.

When Jimbo had Jameis, he was elite.

Saban had Tua, Hurts, Jones etc.

Dabo, like any elite coach is one QB away from contending again.

A man who has a $115 million dollar contract based strictly off those young men battering their bodies and brains for his financial benefit should be the last person talking about those same kids not being able to get paid.
