There is no dispute about the fact classified documents were discovered in places they shouldn't be regardless of who is responsible for misappropriating them. In any case these documents are not controlled at an appropriate level which implies our intelligence agencies and administrations have a serious flaw in document controls with regards to classification, organization and storage. It is becoming clear to me there is no central repository that catalogs and tags all classified documents otherwise we would know where these documents are at all times.

That said misappropriation of classified documents doesn't matter until it does and that is the pickle we find ourselves in. The question that arises is what damage if any has been done? To be fair we will not get any answers to that question unless someone spills the beans and makes reference to the content of such classified documents. This no doubt will never happen for two reasons - 1) The recipients will never divulge the source of the information that is used in any nefarious deeds. 2) Our intelligence agencies will never divulge the entirety of the contents of such documents.

Biden says he was surprised to learn government records, including classified documents, were taken to his private office

Biden didn’t know the documents were there, and didn’t become aware they were there, until his personal lawyers informed the White House counsel’s office, one source familiar with the matter told CNN. In explaining why Biden doesn’t know what’s in the documents, the source said the president’s team is wary of appearing to interfere given the Justice Department is still scrutinizing the matter.
    Questions to ponder.
    • How did Biden's lawyers come across the classified material?
    • Was it the lawyers who went into the closet and found them or was it someone else?
    • In the case of the later who did they notify and what assurance do we have everything that was found was turned over?

After your ass falls off, will you blow up and eventually explode? Do you really think that Biden intentionally left classified documents at that facility? I doubt that he intentionally had them packed up and moved there to begin with. I am not sure that even a narcissistic jerk like Trump would have intentionally taken with him most of the classified documents that were found at Mar-a-Lago. His idiocy was not returning everything after they were discovered.

You compare unsuccessful attempts by a President to sic the IRS on political opponents, where the President was appropriately held back by the people around him to successful attempts by Trump opposers to weaponizing the DOJ to target political opponents.

    Both are wrong, yes.

But Trump, as is the case in most of his flaws as President, was appropriately and effectively held back and checked by the people around him. Thank God for that. My opinion of him as President would likely be very different otherwise.

This may be an appropriate topic for another thread but a very interesting dynamic with the last two Presidential Administrations that seemed to involve individuals whose Presidencies were heavily influenced by the people around them:

    1. In Trump's case the people around him served as an anchor, a check, when that is what his Administration needed most.
    2. In Biden's case, the people around him serve as enablers, people who call for him to go even further than he would typically suggest.

These dynamics dramatically affect the quality of both Presidencies.

Cutting through the crap to the substance....yes I think *Traitor Joe* intentionally took classified docs.

Stated differently, hell no I dont think *Traitor Joe* accidentally left some classified docs in a building accidentky named after him, whilst 50+ million dollars accidentally got paid by china to the Ivy League University host..

Do you subscribe to this fairy tale coinkidink theory?

Btw, did I mention that universities--high profile ones like Oxford, Cambridge, Cologne, the Ivy league schools, Stanford...are renowned hotbeds for espionage activity?

    More coinkidink right?

^^^and again, Trump only matters to juxtapose in terms of treatment, to draw attn to the double standard, and the political weaponization of our intel apparatus.

In the case of the IRS, he wasn't stopped. McCabe and others were selected for Roto Rooter level audits of their taxes.

You know by now that it will take some time for the posters here to get their unified response crafted. I’m guessing it’ll be something like this:

“Move along, nothing to see here” or “Nothingburger” and then - “Well Trump…”

    Now it’s Biden 2 - Trump 1

Another terrible day for Merrick Garland.

Thanks to the scholars here who are assisting me with my battle with spellcheck

    Watch and learn grasshopper:

If Biden has broken the law, charge him when he leaves office. Or feel free to impeach over this if warranted.

    Also, who is Merrill Garland?

You bring up a very interesting point. SCIF's are located everywhere within the US agencies, embassies, ships, subs, military installations etc... Given the track record of SCIF security protocols and document controls one certainly has to wonder what is out there and what has been compromised.

Saw a news report that the first set if docs were daily briefings. Often highly sensitive material, but not a good idea to try and hide the VPOTUS briefings if you want to hide something from the next POTUS. There are a few copies of POTUS briefings made daily. This is to ensure that if the POTUS is incapacitated for any reason, and decisions are needed quickly for national security, the VPOTUS and other top officials are already briefed.

Briefs are also a synopsis of other docs. If Biden were keeping the docs to keep info hidden, not effective at all because all the original source materials would be in the Archives.

Don't know what the second set of docs are. Won't speculate.

Comey, McCabe audits were likely random, IRS watchdog finds

"An IRS watchdog said Thursday that it “did not identify misconduct” in the rare, invasive audits of former FBI Director James Comey and his top deputy, both of whom former President Donald Trump saw as political enemies when he was in office."

"The Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration said in a review of the audit process that the IRS organization in charge of the hyperselective program chose tax returns for audit correctly and did not use malicious code that would have cherry-picked a specific taxpayer."

Still waiting on you providing evidence of tax evasion in the case of Trump.

The spin will be "Biden cooperated BOTH times he had documents in the wrong place; whereas, Trump obfuscated and challenged the Justice Department so Joe Biden showed how admirable he is and we know Trump is a douche."
And, when the 3rd location inevitably is disclosed (about 3 days after the 2024 Presidential Election), it will be proof once again on how Joe Biden is so cooperative.
