You stated when Jesus returns and establishes the Kingdom of God on Earth…….are you now suggesting that there will then be 2 Kingdoms? I don’t. The Lord is not a Nationalist… he’s above that. Drop the Nationalist.

But that’s a key point. I think many believe this is or shouldn’t be a secular nation.

I actually chose Dahmer, rather than say Hitler, specifically to demonstrate I wasn’t trying to make a real comparison. My point is that for any desired political outcome, there must be some level of personal corruption in the politician that makes it an unacceptable bargain. It seems you believe the ends justify the means here, but I just can’t see how another Republican politician wouldn’t have demonstrated a better ratios of political outcomes to personal depravity.

It is interesting you bring up Reagan, as he seems to be almost diametrically opposed to Trump on so many facets. Eg Reagan was for opening borders, free global trade, and his catch phrase was “government is the problem”. Trump basically made his central stance using big government to stop immigration, incite trade wars, and regulate speech.

more Ronnie BIG GOV mythology. He was the most protectionist prez since Hoover. He increased the # of goods with trade restrictions by 100% over Jimmy. His auto quotas are notorious for sucking & he even protected wooden clothespins for the Maine vote.

In 1 Peter 2:9, Peter tells his readers that they are a holy nation. How do you interpret that?

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. -1 Peter 2:9

Just because we are a secular nation (one that cannot establish a state religion). Does not mean that the moral tenants we ask to be governed by lack religion.

Reagan and Trump are quite different. Yet the best Presidents we have had in the last half century. Reagan was a far better communicator. Granted they led in completely different eras. I am not sure how one can be as good of a communicator in the era of social media. Trump is great at it. But now people are so polarized and the problems of instant access to the World Wide Web create a completely different dynamic. Making it hard for anyone left or right.

DeSantis is the closest we have to someone who can maybe get to the Reagan communication level. But it is an uphill battle when you have the fake false narrative stories continually fired through social media and even too hot for him to get past the people who are ingrained in the propaganda.

Don't try to claim you give anybody Due Respect. As the guy who makes up words like Trumpification and Disantistan for thread titles you have no clue how to respect anything. If you want to have an honest respectful discussion quit trying to be cute. You are not.

    What is Christian nationalism?

Christian nationalism is the belief that the American nation is defined by Christianity, and that the government should take active steps to keep it that way. Popularly, Christian nationalists assert that America is and must remain a “Christian nation”—not merely as an observation about American history, but as a prescriptive program for what America must continue to be in the future. Scholars like Samuel Huntington have made a similar argument: that America is defined by its “Anglo-Protestant” past and that we will lose our identity and our freedom if we do not preserve our cultural inheritance.

Christian nationalists do not reject the First Amendment and do not advocate for theocracy, but they do believe that Christianity should enjoy a privileged position in the public square. The term “Christian nationalism,” is relatively new, and its advocates generally do not use it of themselves, but it accurately describes American nationalists who believe American identity is inextricable from Christianity.

In other words the last 8 or 9 generations of Americans were Christian Nationalists even if they didn't know it.

Absolutely not. You do not need religion to know moral right and wrong.

And where do you think people find many of their moral and ethical beliefs?
