It is a national security issue if they have family at home. The CCP can threaten their families in China and make them do whatever they want while they are here up to and including fighting in a war or espionage if a war breaks out between the US and China.

Everyone has a right to live here. No limits, no restrictions. Repeat after me. “ I seek asylum”. Poof, now it’s legal. To have an opinion otherwise is purely xenophobic, racist and just mean. Do you part and greet all comers with grift, I mean gift cards, food and flight vouchers, free healthcare and a basket of relaxing bath salts to assist in their recovery from the long journey. oh, and ignore anyone who tells you they aren’t a net positive as that’s disinformation.

China now has the means to mobilize a large militia force on US soil, but nah nothing to see here…other than mark the posters as MAGA who aren’t 100% on board with this.

and yet the pubs cower in fear of the great orange one and fail to pass the most restrictive and comprehensive border control law int he last 30+ years. they aren't interested in solving the problem, just fundraising from it. both parties complicit here. we need skilled and unskilled labor desperately, we don't need this unchecked, undocumented flow of people without work permits

That's right! We need to replace the antiquated policies of national self defense, with new ones of national self flagellation!

    This. Must. Happen. NOW!

A militia? There’s like 2.5 million Chinese immigrants in the U.S, I’m pretty sure they could mobilize an army if all of them were in fact working for a the CCP.

What is idiotic is the apparent assumption that all these people are working for the CCP. It’s basically like saying all the Cubans who floated over on rafts were working for Castro as opposed to fleeing Castro.

I don’t dispute the notion that the communists send agents or may try to cultivate after the fact, it’s the same spycraft we engaged against the Russians and the Chinese im sure operate much the same way (just as we cultivate spies inside adversarial countries), but lol at the idea of them raising “a militia” this way. It’s actually not even necessary for them to sneak spies across the border, wealthy and connected Chinese have no problems coming here (mostly student visas). People coming across the border to claim asylum are far more likely to be poor and not going to ever obtain positions where they’d have access to sensitive data. Basically, that they are Chinese is not much different than if they were Venezuelan or Cuban. All communist regimes.

I never said all of them are working for the CCP. However, you have to ask the question if the Chinese government threatened their families back in China…would they work for the CCP?

The answer is probably yes. People will do a lot to save their families.

We are talking about 22k people here. It’s the “fastest growing” group because its base was practically zero. Apparently some people are being directed by social media on the roundabout way to get in.

It doesn’t seem like anything to freak out over, esp if they are going through the asylum process which is a legal process.

That is a red herring as far as national security is concerned. Proving their asylum claims does nothing to mitigate the national security risk involved with giving the CCP the ability to summon large militia forces in our country.

If Cubans are given special status WRT asylum claims because of communism or whatever, shouldn't the Chinese? Are we sure those Cubans arent secretly infiltrating to do commie stuff? Perhaps we should deport South Florida or something.

Exactly. We have legislation that would put a dent in this but no, let’s not pass it because we prefer to whine like babies and do whatever our orange god tells us to do.

Call your congressman and Senators and tell him/her to support the legislation to address the border. Or don’t and continue to bitch and worship Trump.

Just a reminder. The next successful terrorist attack carried out by persons who entered crossing the border undocumented will be the first. And the next arrest of someone with a plan to do a terrorist attack will be the second such arrest, with the first arrest happening at Port Angeles, WA with someone trying to enter from Canada.

Nothing new here. PR Keefe wrote a book about it long ago and how the world's most "successful" organized crime boss was a Chinese elderly woman in the US. Great read

Rationally, the least effective way for a foreign government or terrorist organization to infiltrate terrorists into the US would be as illegal migrants through the Southern border. Although a number of illegals do manage to make it across the border a significant number of are apprehended in short order. On the other hand the over half of the Northern border with Canada is almost completely unsecured and there is always the alternative of entering the country legally as tourists, students or temporary workers or even using forged passports.

I would also add that other bogyman is the smuggling of fentanyl and while it is indeed a very serious problem the vast majority of illicit fentanyl entering the US isn't smuggled into the US by migrants entering the US illegally, it's combined with legal cargoes and enters through legal ports of entry.
