Sorry you're not getting it. I paid for the totality of GC, to support a website I spend time on. But the inside info I used to pay for is readily available all over the internet. In fact, most of my time was spent on the free basketball forum because that was always the best spot to shoot the shit, even compared to the pay basketball forum.

I've got not problem with conservative moderators. There are several here. If GC wants to amplify someone who spreads blatant political misinformation that is their choice. As I said, I don't expect them to care about losing my $8 a month or whatever it is. Not do I expect them to remove him. Nor am I going anywhere. I'm just not going to directly pay to a website that has a moderator who spreads blatant misinformation. That's the totality of it, y'all can feel about it how you wish.

Where have you been proven right with any of this?...and citing off the wall sites that push an agenda do not count as proof.

C'mon Rick. Be honest. Your opinions have led to bias. That bias leads to finding sources that hit the mark for your opinion.

Neither you nor I are scientists, but I suspect the term 'asymptomatic carrier' developed as scientists tried to understand how diseases spread.
Yes, I plan to go outside. As soon as it warms up a bit.

Channing is only a "libbie" to those so far right they can't even see the moderate portion of their own side.

Again Bluke, you know I love ya man...Don't let them suck you down that drain. REAL conservatives don't live in the extremes. It's literally what the term means.

Lol. We're past that point. We are now in a fully post-truth world.

We've got people here trying to revise history on covid. To outright lie about January 6. To ignore flagrant crimes to overturn an election (and more.) Who continue to tell lies about fake election fraud. And that's just here, on this site.

We've now got the Liar-in-Chief returning, and his purchaser endorsing vile scumbags globally.

(And yeah yeah, I know- Joe Biden said he was really good at football, or law school, or Papua New Guinea, or something. Same thing!)

Wondering how we got here? People who know a lot better refusing to insist upon a most basic component of our social compact: telling the truth? Or refusing to insist that political organizations do the same, rather than enable crime?

Welp, water under the bridge. Here we are - Trump's America. Put on your boots and wade through the lies.

I call it like I see it.
I haven’t changed, but a few “conservative” posters certainly have.
I’ve never had a problem passing over threads that I’m not interested in.
The libbies have gotten to a few here and it’s noticeable.
    Posting patterns tell the story.

Nothing was going to stop Covid once it was out. But what we should have done is been honest with the world and let them know this disease is mainly lethal to elderly people with comorbidities. Instead we shut the world down and pushed through a new drug on the entire world. Covid was not Trump's highlight as President. Granted he had some of the worst guidance coming from people who were smart to know reality. They knew from Italy/New York/Diamond Princess who was at risk. And they peddled the fear that some here still live in to this day.

With that said...I do agree with you he should have from the Oval Office been honest with everyone and told them to take it seriously. Unfortunately we had public health officials that were not honest which was a major factor in the disastrous handling of the pandemic.

You and agree on a COVID post. Look at us go! Only difference is I have no problem with them overreacting on the front end until the virus was better understood. I'd rather them err on the side of safety and caution, but I understand the overstepping that came with that.

MAGA derangement. Are you really surprised? It's the same mentality that led us to Nikki Haley = Hillary Clinton.

Face, it, MAGA is just drunk fans at a tailgate shouting at the opposing team's tailgate. Intellectually, the movement rises no higher than that. Just GC vs. Warchant.

This. It was a moving target, which was always going to be problematic. The "problem" was making this political from the start. That's when I knew we were toast. I personally think what they did with the vaccine - in the time they did it - was pretty amazing. I'm also convinced it kept me from getting COVID as I was exposed daily but never got as much as a sniffle.

Do you often buy things at the store that everyone in your family detests and would not affect your life one iota if you did not buy? Its an optional purchase. My option is naw.

    LOL

Do you even read what you write, or take note of the hogwash you say?

The Diamond Princess cruise ship had appx 600 cases of covid confirmed between February 3 and February 23, then remained in port in Japan. I highly doubt that the world's best researchers all got on board in those 3 weeks and learned everything there was to know....including acquiring reliable data about who was at greater risk.

It's like you've just been spewing nonsense on this subject for so long that you've started to believe yourself.

Well, good. At least you acknowledge part of history accurately. Yes, Donald Trump straight up lied to the American people. Repeatedly. He admitted such in his own words.

LOL. Darn. Back to the mistruths. Well, one out of three in this post was pretty good for you.

This. It was revolting and vile - America faced one of it's greatest challenges ever in the modern era, and we were almost instantly at each others throats.
We gave no grace to each other whatsoever, including to scientists and leaders who were doing there best in unknown territory.

The crisis was thoroughly politicized right from the start, and I just can't figure out why? ;)

“Now the Democrats are politicizing the coronavirus,” Trump said. “They have no clue, they can't even count their votes in Iowa.”

This is their new hoax,” Trump continued.....

I didn’t say Trumps response was the right one and don’t think it was. He should have told the truth, made suggestions, and let each state, city, or county make whatever rules that thought were needed. The elderly were hit hard along with people with compromised immune systems. Saying Trump lied re covid, among other things, is like saying water is wet.

My comments were that we were fed a bunch of BS about cloth masks, the magic 6’ distance, how a covid shot kept you from getting it, etc. Maybe I’m wrong about some of my opinions. Have been before and will be again.

It just surprises me that you, or any rational person, would believe most of that ^.

I think those things you reference include some of the best-intentioned guidances from some of our best-qualified experts - guidance that was formulated and given in a new, deadly, and fluid situation.

I really don't know about you, but I'm pretty hesitant to jump on public servants and experts who deserve a little grace when it's going to be impossible to be perfect. This includes police, first responders, health experts, and yes - scientists.

    Indeed.

And it is just simply impossible for me to wrap my head around it, to this day.

The very President of the United States intentionally chose a policy of repeatedly lying to the American public about a deadly global pandemic. Solely to preserve his chances at reelection.

Think about that. That is INSANE. That is the UTMOST DERELICTION OF DUTY CONCEIVABLE. And people are apparently willing to overlook that. It's CRIMINAL.

I have always said I had some understanding of the overreaction on the front end if trying to honestly put myself back in 2020 as it was happening. Same with the shot. Minus I truly believe the shot should have never been authorized for anyone under 65 at any time (at the time I was okay with it being available for young healthy people if they wanted it but now believe that it should have never been authorized for that group). We probably disagree here. It turns out the shot was always a step behind. By the time they released one...the variant the spike was targeting had typically run its course and was no longer in the community. Knowing the risk benefit. Pharma won and made billions pushing a new drug that many people did not need/certainly needed more evidence that the benefit outweighed any risk. People forget that the shot based on how it was sold to the public by our leaders gave millions of people the comfort they would not spread Covid if they got the shot.

I am certainly jaded with how the medical community handled Covid. And I have my thoughts on why so many doctors were so slow to be vocal about the reality of the situation (including my doctor who was on the early side as he knew by the time I saw him in September of 2020 pfizer was not effective based on research and his own experience to that point). But I think we are far closer in the grand scheme of things than many would think. And that goes with a lot of posters who have their opinions on my stances. Just like I think a lot of posters are much closer to the likes of Dr. Bhattacharya than they are to Dr. Fauci. But because it became political as @CHFG8R pointed out. The whole thing was over. Never thought I would see something like we did during my lifetime.
