Childless GOP Candidate Borrows Friend’s Wife and Kids for Photo Ops

The comparisons between Trump/the "new right" and professional wrestling aren't new, but having just watched the Netflix documentary on Vince McMahon reminded me how both amusing and sad the similarities are.

 

Hulk Hogans was one Trump's speakers at the RNC. I think that says it all regarding the comparison between the former president and professional wrestling.

 

LOL at people who believe there are two parties.

 

There have been so many things, and it's not just about Trump liking pro wrestling (lots of people did/do) or about Trump seeing Vince as being great at branding, which he was/is. Both men put winning above all else, but I suppose that could be said about lots of powerful people.

But even getting down to more detailed examples, there are quite a few parallels and connections. Both seem to have had very demanding (if not outright abusive) fathers and felt the need to fight for their fathers' approval. They both saw a value in creating constant conflict to keep folks entertained. They purposefully blur the line between reality and fiction so people can no longer tell what's real and what is a work. They say things "in character" which affords plausible deniability. Trump was personally involved in various events and promotions, to include the Battle of the Billionaires match. Trump appointed Linda McMahon to a Cabinet position. Trump and McMahon both speak about women in nearly exclusively sexual terms. They have sexualized their own daughters and been credibly accused of sexual abuse by various women. Both Trump and McMahon also brought their kids into the family business and seemed to enjoy pitting them against those around them. I'm sure others could come up with a much longer list, but it's pretty interesting.

 

Is this true?! Is she married?! This is very odd. And why put make these kids political pawns in the world of “political ads” and everything that entails?

 

Talk about weird.

 

Ever notice that people like you have to use fake examples to try to make your point? Sad.
