Right. Romney, Kasich, Hogan from MD, are all vastly superior choices to DeSantis. I don't despise DeSantis because he's a Republican. I despise him because he's despicable.

Here's what a former teammate thought of him:

That's your right, but it's an odd decision if you see the danger DeSantis is. Crist is a politician, but he's been governor. He's relatively harmless. Can you say the same about Ron?

Thanks for proving his point. You weren't turned off by Trump's authoritarian tendencies, distaste for rights and the Constitution, and willingness to kill our democracy to hold on to power. You were turned off by him being rude and immature. Your willingness to throw in with wannabe authoritarians is something I can't and don't respect. Your disregard of free speech is something I can't and don't respect. The problem with Trump for you was optics, and that shows you really learned nothing.

If that's how you chalk up brazenly and repeatedly violating people's free speech rights, you truly are just as aligned with the neo-fascist party as others.

Well, Ive now read several articles on the Broward School Board suspensions and have yet to see the red meat which got them suspended 4 years after Parkland, just a lot of legal terms, malfeasance, misfeasance, etc. Maybe they deserved it, maybe not hard to say from the articles.

At this rate DeSantis is gonna set a record with removing elected Dems from office and replacing them with his cronies. As the Petty song goes "it's good to be king".

Have to wonder why DeSantis hasnt suspended the Broward County sheriff who lied multiple times on his application and is under an FBI investigation for collusion and fraud. Maybe, just maybe, it is because the sheriff was appointed by the gov.

He's been effective at abusing his power and subverting the Constitution, I will give you that.

I get it. I just won't ever vote for a candidate whom I don't ethically trust. Never have, never will. I can't give my tacit support.

You have every right to draw that line. But man, at some point, we've all gotta band together to stop these guys if we want to protect our democracy. Trust me, I'm not enthusiastic over Crist, but DeSantis has gotta go. If he gets reelected, he'll just be emboldened to go even further here in Florida to set himself up to win the GOP Primary.

DeSantis also could have suspended that judge who lied on her Florida Supreme Court application. Instead, he promoted her by appointing her to the Florida Supreme Court.

Despite throwing around some very inflammatory and political language, they didn't charge any of the people involved with anything. It was just a pretext for DeSantis to replace a liberal majority school board in a very blue county with his cronies.

DeSantis is gonna smoke Crist, with or without me. Too many "Republicans" are in love with the authoritarian strong-man type.

Unfortunately, other states are run by GOP jerks who mandate that mail ballots can't be counted first so when someone like Trump leads the in-person voting, they can claim fraud when the mail ballots overcome his lead.

Maybe, but this is a weird year. The abortion issue is the wildcard. I also think that Val Demmings is going to generate some turnout. But yeah, DeSantis probably beats Crist.

    Oh wow, missed that one.

DeSantis ignores inconvenient facts to appoint Judge Renatha Francis

Florida Bulldog reported on June 19 that Francis has been the subject of ethics complaints to the Judicial Qualifications Commission but did not disclose them on her Supreme Court application. She has been accused by multiple litigants of trampling on their due process rights and disfavoring pro se parties who do not have lawyers to speak for them.

At every opportunity, including on Friday, Judge Renatha Francis professes her philosophical kinship with the arch-conservative Federalist Society. She spoke of “respecting and observing the limited role that judges play,” one of their favorite concepts.
