Well this needs to happen. However the person in charge needs to be part of the drastic changes. The person leading the failure is going to lead the change? We may as well tell Coach Napier thanks but after further review we think Mullen is the answer.

"In our big moment, our performance did not reliably meet expectations," Walensky said in a statement to the media…

"There's been a loss of trust at CDC, and to regain trust, you have to have transparency," Besser said. "That means sharing all the findings and make the case for why these are the best approaches to addressing the deficiencies that are found."“

CDC director calls for drastic changes to the agency following pandemic missteps

So much damage was done by these people. Getting rid of Walensky is step 1…

It’s a perfect analogy. Are you proposing that we should have kept Mullen to fix the shitshow that he created?

It honestly sounds like the only changes she thinks are needed is a more effective PR campaign for the next time they want to lock you down in your house, kill your business and wear a mask 24/7.

The CDC needs to be gutted and start over. They've manipulated data and lied to the public. It's why no one is vaxxing their young babies. Yet we still have the posters in here thinking the cdc is great LOL. Lemmings, all of them.

After how many people died from their recommendations... to deny other FDA approved, and safe, treatments to people with Covid-19? How convenient for them to say that after the fact.

Not enough kickback money involved when you're talking about inexpensive generic drugs compared to mrna vaccines.

Testing was a waste when it comes to Covid. No way to test fast enough and contact trace this particular disease in a way that would have provided any benefit.

The cdc has finally realized that testing to test is just dumb. Yet with their recommendations...the United States has dropped the testing requirement for international visitors but still has not dropped the requirement to take the covid shot for international travelers even though we know the drugs do not stop anything at this time with omicron and the subvariants. All while ignoring natural immunity. These people should have been fired yesterday.

Talk about ridiculous! To think that schools and other organizations were shutting down over COVID-19 more than a full year before the first infection was even reported! Can you say "government overreach?!"

Let's see if you can follow along here. We had schools shut down in School year 2019-2020, we had shut downs in school year 2020-2021, we had shut downs in school year 2021-2022 and now we have a shut down in school year 2022-2023. I'm sure you will say "sorry" and move on...

    Preach on, brother!

Don't these school admins understand that we don't care about their health or ability to conduct classrooms if their teachers are sick? And as if these kids are actually at real risk from COVID! If they're going to die from catching anything in school, odds are it would be a bullet, not a virus!

I don’t know if the posts in this thread so far are just sarcastic jokes or a celebration of ignorance. Science is never set in stone but is constantly changing as more information becomes available. No one, including the CDC, would say the CDC didn’t make mistakes, but who knows how many lives were saved by following their guidance?
